Eurographics 2013: Call for Full Papers

Call for Full Papers for Eurographics 2013 (Website http://eg2013.udg.edu/) The Eurographics 2013 Technical Papers programme will showcase innovative research, practice and experience, and novel applications. We invite submission of high-quality papers that will set the standard in the field and stimulate future trends. Accepted papers will be presented at Eurographics 2013 and published in a special issue of the Eurographics journal, Computer Graphics Forum. We encourage submission from all areas related to computer graphics such as rendering, modeling, animation, visualization, virtual reality, computer vision, imaging, and related disciplines. Dates A preliminary abstract is due by 23:59GMT, Friday September 21st, 2012, and the full paper deadline is 23:59GMT, Friday September 28th, 2012. Submission Electronic submission of all papers is mandatory and will be conducted using the Submission and Review Management (SRM) system. Papers must be written in English, must be anonymized, should not exceed 10 pages in length, and must be formatted according to the Eurographics Computer Graphics Forum publication guidelines. Accepted papers must be presented in English at Eurographics 2013. This event uses a double-blind reviewing approach, so please remove all personal data (like such as authors, affiliations, etc.) from your submission. Reviewers are asked to keep confidential all materials sent to them for evaluation. Double Submission Policy Authors are required to include a declaration that they have not previously published nor currently submitted the scientific contribution claimed in their paper to any other conference or journal before or during the Eurographics 2013 Technical Papers review period. Any paper that does not adhere to these requirements will be rejected without review. Re-Submitted Material For papers that have previously been reviewed for other venues and have been rejected or withdrawn, the authors can provide a cover letter describing the changes they have made to comply with reviewers comments and requests. This procedure is strongly recommended and it is meant to improve the efficiency of the reviewing process but does not imply reviewer continuity. The cover letter has to be submitted through the SRM as an Additional Attachment (last section of the SRM upload form). Rebuttal, Notification, Publication & Prizes New this year: a rebuttal period from November 15th to 18th will allow authors to clarify any ambiguity with respect to the original reviews. The date for notification of the results of the review process is December 7th, 2012. From all accepted papers, an international jury will select the three best papers. The best paper will receive the Günter Enderle Award, including a cash prize of 1000 Euros presented at Eurographics 2013. Project assistant (PhD student) The Institute of Computer Graphics at the Faculty of Technology and Natural Science at the Johannes Kepler University Linz ( <http://www.jku.at/cg> www.jku.at/cg) is seeking a projected assistant (PhD student) for a project duration of three years (extendable). According to the wage agreement of university employees, the gross salary is 27,000 EUR/year (30h per week). Applicants must hold a Master or Univ. Diploma degree in computer science or related fields, such as mathematics or mediainformatics, and should have profound experience in one or more of the following areas: computer graphics, computer vision, visual computing. The research focus will be on development of novel computational photography / light-field photography methods, i.a. in the course of a basic research project funded by the Austrian Science Foundation (FWF). Additional duties include the support of the acquisition of third-party funds, the collaboration in teaching, and the supervision of theses in master-, bachelor-, and diploma courses. CFP: IEEE Computer on Cutting-Edge Research in Visualization

Dear Colleagues, This is to remind you of the approaching due date for the special issue of IEEE Computer Magazine that is the flagship publication of the IEEE Computer Society. The topic is on Cutting-Edge Research in Visualization, for the May 2013 IEEE Computer Magazine issue. Professorship in Geometry Processing

The Graz University of Technology/ Faculty for Informatics intents to appoint a Professorship in Geometry Processing The position will be available at the Institute of Computer Graphics and Knowledge Visualization by March 1, 2013. The contract will initially be for a 5-year period with an optional extension to a tenured position. The position will be paid according to the salary grade A1 of the collective agreement. An overpayment of the monthly minimum salary of t he collective agreement € 4,571.20 (14x per year) can be arranged. The applicant is expected to work with the research cluster 'visual computing' at Graz University of Technology with a focus on (parametric) modeling in computer graphics, (semi-) immersive rendering and digital libraries (for general document types). An involvement in projects in the field of Cultural Heritage and the willingness to collaborate closely with Fraunhofer Austria and the Fraunhofer IGD is desired. The conference is hosted by Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire, including a tutorial (on Kinect Programming), with a full programme Thursday 13th - Friday 14th September. The aim of the conference is to focus on theoretical and practical aspects of Computer Graphics and to bring together top practitioners, users and researchers, which will hopefully inspire further collaboration between participants particularly between academia and industry.
