Call for paper: Symposium on Geometry Processing (SGP) 2013 The Eurographics Symposium on Geometry Processing (SGP) is the premier venue for disseminating new research ideas and cutting-edge results in geometry processing. In this research area, concepts from mathematics, computer science, and engineering are studied and applied to offer new insights and design efficient algorithms for acquisition, modeling, analysis, manipulation, simulation and transmission of complex 3D models. In 2013, SGP will be held in Genova, Italy, from July 3 to 5. To continue a nice new tradition created in the past a few years, SGP will offer a graduate school on July 1-2 specifically targeted towards graduate students. The school will be taught by leading experts in the field and complemented by hands-on practical exercises to obtain an in-depth knowledge of some of the most important aspects of geometry processing. At the same time, 3D data have become very common in various domains such as computer vision, computational geometry, molecular biology and medicine. The rapid evolution in graphics hardware and software, in particular the availability of low cost 3D scanners and modeling tools, has greatly facilitated 3D model acquisition, creation, and manipulation, giving the opportunity to a large user community to experience applications using 3D models. As the number of 3D models is growing rapidly, the problem of creating new 3D models has shifted to the problem of searching for existing 3D models. Thereupon, the development of efficient search mechanisms is required for the effective retrieval of 3D objects from large repositories. The aim of the 3DOR Workshop series is to stimulate researchers from different fields such as Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Machine Learning and Human-Computer Interaction who work on the common goal of 3D object retrieval, to present state-of-the-art work in the field. Call for Papers 2nd Geometry Processing Workshop NASAGEM 2013 Computer Graphics International 2013 -- New Advances in Shape Analysis and Geometric Modeling -- June 11th 2013, Leibnizhaus Hannover, Germany The NASAGEM workshop will be held under the umbrella of the Computer Graphics International (CGI) Conference, June 11-14th in Hannover. In 2013 the CGI celebrates its 30th anniversary under the auspices of the minister president of Lower Saxony. Of special interest will be contributions addressing issues related to characterizing and representing complex geometrical data and shapes by using concepts from computational and differential geometry, differential equations and computational topology. All accepted submissions will be electronically published as full-length papers. The best papers will be invited to be published as an extended version in a special issue of Springer Journal The Visual Computer. All submissions will be peer reviewed. Full papers in English containing original and unpublished results are solicited. Perception of shapes, surfaces and materials PAPERS Research can be submitted as a long paper (up to 8 pages and a 20 minute talk), a short paper (up to 4 pages and a 15 minute talk), or as a poster presentation (1 page abstract). Papers that are not accepted will be considered for the poster session. Authors of posters accepted by this route will, of course, have the option to decline the opportunity to present a poster. POSTERS A poster presentation is an opportunity for authors to display and discuss achievements that are not ready for publication or have not been published previously. The poster session is always an integral part of SAP with specific time allotted for participants to view and discuss the work. All poster presenters will have the opportunity to give a one-minute description of their work during a poster fast-forward session. Poster presentations are not formal publications. We encourage all types of poster submissions. Poster abstract submissions should be no more than one page in length and should follow the ACM SIGGRAPH formatting guidelines. FURTHER DETAILS All papers will be carefully reviewed by our International Program Committee. Papers will be evaluated as submitted, given limited time between submission and printing of final versions. Under a recent agreement with the ACM Transactions on Applied Perception (TAP) and the ACM Publications Board, the strongest accepted papers will be offered publication as full papers in the ACM journal TAP. These papers will undergo a second review cycle, during which the authors will revise the paper to address concerns posed in the summary review (similar to conditional acceptances at ACM SIGGRAPH). Authors of such special issue papers must agree to present the paper at ACM SAP. As has always been the case, authors of regular ACM SAP papers can still submit to TAP regular issues with appropriate additions.

Call for papers The Eurographics Symposium on Rendering 2013 will take place in Zaragoza, Spain, from June 19 to June 21, 2013. This is the 24th annual event in the series of very successful Eurographics Symposia on Rendering and Eurographics Workshops on Rendering. The local organizers are Diego Gutierrez and Adolfo Munoz and the program chairs are Nicolas Holzschuch and Szymon Rusinkiewicz.
