[CfP] IEEE VIS Workshop on Topological Data Analysis and Visualization (TopoInVis 2022)

# Call for Contributions Topological Data Analysis has become, over the last few years, an established framework for the extraction and analysis of subtle structural patterns in complex data. It has been successfully applied in a variety of application fields, including quantum chemistry, astrophysics, fluid dynamics, combustion, material sciences, biology, and data science. In particular, the genericity, efficiency, and robustness of topological methods have made them particularly well suited for the multi-scale, interactive analysis and visualization of the structural information of data. Despite their rising mainstream popularity, topological methods still face a number of challenges, including, for instance efficient computational methods for large-scale time-varying data, the characterization of noise and uncertainty, or the support of emerging data types such as ensemble data or high-dimensional point clouds. The IEEE VIS Workshop on Topological Data Analysis and Visualization aims at being an inclusive forum for the fast dissemination of the latest results in theory, algorithms, and applications of topological methods for the interactive and visual analysis of data. This workshop is a remodeling of the established TopoInVis workshop series, with the goal of being more diverse (in terms of applications) and inclusive (in terms of communities), with a clear will to open to other members of the visualization community potentially interested in topological methods, or experts in topological methods from other communities willing to experiment with interactive and visual applications. New in 2022: This year, in addition to full paper presentations, we will host a session of lightning talks (approx. 5 minutes) for early-career researchers (Ph.D. students, post-docs, etc.) to advertise their work to the community. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to): - Topological methods for the analysis and visualization of: * High dimensional point cloud data * Graph data * Scalar, vector, tensor, multi-field data * Time-varying data * Ensemble data * Uncertain data - Topological methods for data science (dimensionality reduction, clustering, etc.) - Computational methods for topological data analysis and visualization - Software systems for topological data analysis and visualization - Visual analytic frameworks relying on topological methods - Applications of topological data analysis and visualization We welcome contributions as regular papers in the IEEE VGTC format (up to 9 pages of content, plus up to 2 pages of references), as well as abstracts (at most 500 words) for early-career lightning talks. Paper submissions will be peer-reviewed by an international program committee, including experts in topological methods for scientific data, information visualization, visual analytics, computational geometry and machine learning. Accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. TOSIYASU KUNII AWARD In honor of Tosiyasu Kunii, the Tosiyasu Kunii Award was established in 2021 to recognize shape modeling researchers with distinguished careers. The recipients of the award will be selected by the SMI Awards Committee, based on proposals from the research community in Shape Modeling. The proposals can simply be in a formal letter format. Self-nominations will also be considered. The nomination letters should provide a clear description of the substantial contributions of the candidate to the field of shape modeling. Nomination proposals can be accepted by the SMI awards committee at any time. The decision will be announced two months before the conference. Submissions must be anonymous (in which the paper contains no identifying information). Video sequences in standard formats may be submitted using the electronic submission system. Submission Guidelines We try to be as permissive as possible while still taking all reasonable steps to preserve anonymity during the review process. Eurographics Symposium on Rendering 2022: CFP

The Eurographics Symposium on Rendering 2022 will take place from July 4th to July 6th, 2022, hosted by Charles University in Prague. This 33nd event continues the series of highly successful Eurographics Symposia and Workshops on Rendering. This year, EGSR features two paper submission tracks: the Research Track and the Industry Track. All accepted research papers will be presented at EGSR 2022 and archived in the Eurographics digital library. Furthermore, a selection of them will be published in an issue of the Computer Graphics Forum (CGF) journal, based on both the recommendations of the reviewers and the outcome of a second cycle of review. The industry track provides an accessible venue for getting out ideas that have found practical use in industry and could impact the future of rendering research, but might not meet the standards/expectations of scientific evaluation expected in formal research papers. These papers will be curated by the paper co-chairs and will be presented in the conference along with the traditional research papers. The conference program will be exactly the same as in previous years; it will include paper presentations, keynote talks, and several workshops but everything will be done using remote conferencing services. All attendees will participate in the conference remotely with video/audio and slide sharing; there will be no on-site participation. Call for Papers https://easychair.org/cfp/SMI-SCULPT2022 The SCULPT track: “Shape Creation Using Layouts, Programs, & Technology” is the successor of the former FASE track (Fabrication and Sculpting Event) at SMI. SCULPT is focused on original research on the theory and practice of shape design, sculpting, and architecture, including the physical realization of the envisioned shapes via modeling, construction, fabrication, or manufacturing. The presented work should have a clear algorithmic or mathematical basis, and it may also address the inverse process of obtaining a clean CAD model from a given physical artifact. Topics SCULPT solicits papers that pose new questions and motivate further research in designing, fabrication, and sculpting. Topics should be useful, for example, in the following areas: (1) Fabrication of digital models, (2) Advanced manufacturing techniques such as additive manufacturing, laser cutting or CNC milling, (3) Interactive or procedural design of manufacturable shapes, (4) Interconnections of complex modeling and fabrication processes, (5) Visually stimulating fabrication techniques or printed structures. Submissions All SCULPT paper submissions will be handled via the easy-chair system following a one-stage peer review cycle. Accepted SCULPT papers will be published in a special issue of the Hyperseeing magazine. SCULPT paper presentations will be 15 minutes in length. They will be presented in a special SCULPT session at the SMI 2022. Accepted papers and posters must be presented in person by registering for the SMI conference. Location SMI-SCULPT 2022 will be co-located with the Shape Modeling International (SMI 2022) and organized as an event of Shape Modeling International conference (SMI 2022). Submission Guidelines All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome: Full papers describing methods in detail with a limit of 16 pages. Short papers describing methods in less detail with a limit of 8 pages. Posters describing methods in much less detail with a limit of 4 pages.
