ORGANIZATION
The ICAT-EGVE 2023 conference will be held between December 6th and December
8th at Trinity College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland. ICAT-EGVE 2023 is the merger
of the 33rd International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence
(ICAT 2023) and the 28th Eurographics Symposium on Virtual Environments
(EGVE 2023). Together, these are two of the oldest international conferences
in the world on Artificial Reality and Virtual Environments.
SUBMISSION
We invite the submission of Papers, Posters and Demonstrations describing
novel research ideas, work in progress, recently completed work, preliminary
results, or unusual systems and applications. ICAT-EGVE 2023 seeks inspiring
submissions describing research, applications or systems in all areas of
Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Telexistence, and 3D User
Interfaces, e.g., the following non-exhaustive list of more specific areas:
- 3D interaction for VR/AR/MR
- VR/AR/MR systems and toolkits
- User studies and evaluation for VR/AR/MR
- Telexistence, Telepresence and Teleimmersion
- Haptics, audio, and other non-visual modalities
- Serious games and edutainment using VR/AR/MR
- Presence, cognition, and embodiment in VR/AR/MR
- Novel devices (both input and output) for VR/AR/MR, and haptics
- Multi-user and distributed VR/AR/MR, Tele-immersion and Telepresence
- Immersive projection technologies and other advanced display technologies
- Submissions in other related areas are welcome too.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES - FOR PAPERS:
The conference invites full and short paper submissions:
- Full papers must not exceed eight (8) pages in length (excluding
references).
- Short papers must not exceed four (4) pages in length (excluding
references).
- Both full and short papers must be in English and should be formatted
using the
- Eurographics format. A sample LaTeX document for ICAT-EGVE 2023 can be

- ICAT-EGVE uses a double-blind review process. Therefore, submissions
should not contain information (including citations and optional videos)
that unnecessarily identifies the authors or their institutions or places of
work. All papers must be submitted electronically as PDF. Authors are
encouraged to submit videos to aid the program committee in the review of
their submissions.

REVIEW AND PUBLICATION
- All accepted Papers/Posters/Demos will be published in the Eurographics
Digital Library and presented interactively at the conference.
- Papers/Posters/Demos will be selected by the responsible chairs for the
video/in-person presentations at the conference. Upon acceptance, the
camera-ready version of the submission will be included in the electronic
proceedings, provided that potential comments from the reviewers are
appropriately addressed.

ICGI 2023 – International Conference on Graphics and Interaction – corresponds to the 30th conference promoted by the Eurographics Portuguese Chapter – the portuguese group of the European Association for Computer Graphics. The conference started in the late 80's as a small symposium and has grown in importance each year.
ICGI 2023 is dedicated to the latest and promising research related to interaction techniques, computer graphics, and its applications, including software, hardware, visualization, and games. It covers the areas of Computer Graphics, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Information Visualization, Human-Computer Interaction, as well as related fields such as Virtual and Augmented Reality, Modelling, Rendering, Digital Arts, and Information Visualization.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The official languages of the conference are English and Portuguese. Articles written in Portuguese must also include the title and abstract in English. The following paper categories are welcome:
1. Full papers should not exceed 8 A4 pages.
2. Short papers should not exceed 4 A4 pages.
3. Posters should be designed as A0 portrait orientation and should be accompanied by a text, in the same format as the articles, with a maximum of 2 A4 pages to be included in the conference proceedings

Dear Eurographics community,
I am seeking to hire two postdoctoral fellows as part of an ERC-funded Consolidator Grant. The anticipated start date is November 1 (later is also possible), and the positions are for three years (with possible extension up to five years). The location is Darmstadt, Germany. The goals of the grant are to study how people infer which parts of a scene belong to which objects, how the rich information provided by the projection of the 3D world into our eyes contributes to these inferences, and how these processes might be learned. We will develop a new display device and experimental methods to study how adult humans segment scenes, and develop new technologies using advanced computer graphics and machine learning to simulate the inputs to the visual system from early development to adulthood.
To achieve these goals, I am ideally seeking one person with experience with multifocal displays, and another person with experience in computer graphics (particularly with inverse rendering) and / or machine learning and computer vision. Work packages are closely tied together and there will be ample opportunity to collaborate and learn from each other. The team will be expanded by the hiring of two PhD students in mid-2024.

3RD CALL FOR PAPERS
The 16th annual ACM/SIGGRAPH conference on Motion, Interaction and Games (MIG 2023, formerly Motion in Games), an ACM SIGGRAPH Specialized Conferences, held in cooperation with Eurographics, will take place in Rennes, France, 15th - 17th Nov 2023. The goal of the Motion, Interaction, and Games conference is to be a platform for bringing together researchers from interactive systems and animation, and have them present their most recent results, initiate collaborations, and contribute to the advancement of the research area. The conference will consist of regular paper sessions for long and short papers, and talks by a selection of internationally renowned speakers from Academia as well as from the Industry.
The conference organizers invite researchers to consider submitting their highest quality research for publication in MIG 2023.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
We invite submissions of original, high-quality papers in any of the topics of interest (see below) or related topics. Each submission should be 7-9 pages in length for a long paper, or 4-6 pages for a short paper. References are excluded from the page limit. We encourage authors with content that can be fit into 6 pages to submit as a short paper and only to submit a long paper if the content requires it.
All submissions will be double-blind peer-reviewed by our international program committee for technical quality, novelty, significance, and clarity. Double-blind means that paper submissions must be anonymous and include the unique paper ID that will be assigned upon creating a submission using the online system.
Papers should not have previously appeared in, or be currently submitted to, any other conference or journal. For each accepted contribution, at least one of the authors must register for the conference.
All submissions will be considered for the Best Paper, Best Student Paper, and Best Presentation awards, which will be conferred during the conference. Authors of selected best papers will be referred (under validation) to submit extended and significantly revised versions for a Special Issue of Computers & Graphics journal.
We also invite submissions of poster papers in any of the topics of interest and related areas. Each submission should be 1-2 pages in length. Two types of work can be submitted directly for poster presentation: (i) Work that has been published elsewhere but is of particular relevance to the MIG community can be submitted as a poster. This work and the venue in which it is published should be identified in the abstract; (ii) Work that is of interest to the MIG community but is not yet mature enough to appear as a paper.
Posters will not appear in the official MIG proceedings or in the ACM Digital library but will appear in an online database for distribution at author’s discretion. You can use any paper format, though the MIG paper format is recommended. In addition, you are welcome to submit supplementary material such as videos.

Aims and Scope
Work presented at the Eurographics Workshop on Visual Computing for Biology and Medicine ( <http://vcbm.org/> EG VCBM) should reflect the state of the art in visual computing and its applications in biology and medicine. VCBM’s scope encompasses all aspects of visual computing research, technological development, and practices in medicine and life sciences. Relevant topics include both the acquisition, processing, visualization and interpretation of image data in biology and medicine, and the visual analysis and communication of life science data.
Submissions types for VCBM 2023
Submissions for this year’s meeting include original papers (full and short) survey papers, and tutorial sessions. Please see previous <https://diglib.eg.org/handle/10.2312/463> EG VCBM’s proceedings for examples of published papers. We encourage authors to provide supporting information in the form of videos and other media. The deadline for submissions is 12th July 2023.
Papers (full & short) should describe original, application-oriented research that advances the fusion of visual computing methods within medicine and biology. Accepted work will focus on a well-defined biological or medical problem, and demonstrate significant innovation or improvement in visual computing.
Surveys are long-form submissions addressing new and emerging topics in visual computing and biology and medicine.
Tutorials are didactic or hands-on sessions of 1 or 2 hours, delivered during the conference. They should enable participants to learn how to use new tools or techniques, or gain practical experience of domain specific data.
Topics
All aspects relating to the development, application and practices of visual computing in the life sciences are relevant to the meeting. These include:
* Visual computing solutions designed for use by medical, biomedical and biological practitioners, researchers and educators.
* The use of eXtended Reality (e.g., for surgical procedures, molecular visualization, rehabilitation, and therapy).
* Approaches for processing, visual analysis, and communication of data from new or challenging modalities (e.g., real-time ultrasound, CyTOF, Spectroscopy, layer fMRI, single-cell and spatial-omics, environmental monitoring).
* Visual computing approaches incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and explainable AI.
* Visual computing solutions that support new approaches for modeling and simulation with application in medicine and biology.
* Workflows and processes leveraging visual computing to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration in biology and medicine.
In addition to full-length papers, there will again be a short papers track and a survey track, encouraging scientific contributions from an even more diverse group of researchers and practitioners. All EG VCBM 2023 papers (full, short, and surveys) will be peer-reviewed and those accepted will appear in the Eurographics Digital Library.
We encourage the use of digital videos to support all submissions. Please use only the most common video codecs such as MP4 H.264 to maximize the chances that the reviewers can view it.
* Full Papers: We do not impose strict maximum lengths for submitted papers to the full papers track. However, it is unusual for papers to exceed 10 pages (in <https://conferences.eg.org/vcbm2023/wp-content/uploads/sites/19/2023/06/egP…> LaTeX style including all images and references). Papers should only be as long as their content would justify. Reviewers might rate a submission lower if it is perceived as being unnecessarily long or might recommend it for a short paper, instead. Authors are encouraged to use supplementary material, such as videos or executable programs to provide extra content. Authors may choose to anonymize their submission, but this is not required.
* Short Papers: Short papers describe a more focused and concise research contribution and are likely to have a smaller – yet significant – scope of contribution. Potential examples include the presentation of initial results from novel ongoing research projects or the exploration of new application areas. Short papers draw from the same list of topics as full papers. Their length is limited to a total of 5 pages (in <https://conferences.eg.org/vcbm2023/wp-content/uploads/sites/19/2023/06/egP…> LaTeX style including all images and references). Authors may choose to anonymize their submission, but this is not required.
* Surveys: We do not impose strict maximum lengths for submitted papers to the survey track. However, it is unusual for surveys to exceed 20 pages (in CGF LaTeX style including all images and references). Authors are encouraged to use supplementary material, such as videos, to provide extra content. Authors may choose to anonymize their submission, but this is not required.
* Tutorials: A brief description of the topic, an outline of the contents of the tutorial as well as a request for duration (e.g., one/two hours). Maximum one page excluding references. Authors may not anonymize their submission.
EG VCBM 2023 will also feature a poster and an image contest program, the details of which will be announced in a separate call.
