3D Object Retrieval Workshop Series
Search engines are now the default way in which most people engage with
information, as the vast majority of information is born digital. Also, a
new wave of information is underway: low-cost 3D scanners, 3D printers, and
powerful modelling software have made 3D models appeal to an increasing
audience. Repositories of 3D objects are rapidly growing in both number and
size. Yet, the task of exploring such large 3D repositories and retrieving
the models of interest remains a challenging problem. It is crucial to
develop algorithms for content-based searching of 3D object collections;
creating compact and accurate descriptors for 3D objects; creating efficient
storage structures for databases of 3D objects; investigating theoretical
aspects of practical importance, such as the definition of the similarity
concept; interfaces for content-based 3D object search; visualization
techniques for 3D search results; real time aspects of techniques and
algorithms; new challenges such as faceted 3D browsing, social search, and
navigation of hybrid datasets. The complex yet concrete problems above are
drawing increasing attention from the research community.
The aim of the 3DOR Workshop series is to stimulate researchers from
different fields such as Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Machine
Learning, Cognitive Science and Human-Computer Interaction who work on or
are interested in 3D object retrieval search and exploration, to present
state-of-the-art work in the field or learn about it and participate in
discussions. This will provide a cross-fertilization that will stimulate
discussions on the next steps in this important research area. 3DOR 2017
will be the 10th workshop in this series.
***********************************************************
Call for Papers
Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished research and
application papers addressing all areas of 3D Object Retrieval. Submissions
are invited in the form of full papers (up to 8 pages) and short papers

specific topics of interest in the workshop are also welcome and may exceed
the 8 pages limit.
All accepted papers will be published in the EG Digital Library.
Extended and revised versions of selected full papers will be considered for
publication in a special section of the Computers and Graphics Journal
(Elsevier), based on the reviewers comments and on the feedback from the
3DOR workshop. The deadline for this special issue will be 6 weeks after the

EG 2019 State-of-the-Art Report - Call for papers - EXTENDED DEADLINE
29/10/2018
State-of-the-Art Reports (STARs) provide an up-to-date and comprehensive
overview of a special topic of current interest related to Computer
Graphics. We welcome submissions on all topics relevant to EUROGRAPHICS, and
particularly encourage STARs on topics that have not been covered in any
recent edition. STAR reports on cross-sectional, multi-disciplinary areas
are also highly welcomed. A STAR can also address the use of Computer
Graphics techniques in a different scientific discipline or in industrial
practice. For examples of suitable STAR topics, please refer to the
EUROGRAPHICS digital library.
Accepted STARs will be published in a special issue of Computer Graphics
Forum, which appears right before the EUROGRAPHICS conference. The journal
status of the proceedings requires a two-stage review process with
conditional acceptance after the first round and final acceptance based on
the revised submissions. Submissions needing a major revision will be
transferred to the standard submission track of Computer Graphics Forum.
At EUROGRAPHICS 2019, the authors of a STAR will be given 90 minutes to
present the report at a level that allows non-experts in the particular
domain to follow the presentation.
Submission details
Electronic submissions of STARs is mandatory and will be conducted using the
Submission and Review Management System. Papers must be written in English
and prepared according to this year's template, which can be found at:
srmv2.eg.org/COMFy.
The deadline for the submission of STARs is 23:59 UTC, October 29, 2018,
with notification of conditional acceptance on December 21, 2018. The
revised version of conditionally accepted STARs will have to be submitted at
a later date for a second review, and the camera ready version will be due
about 6 weeks before the start of the conference.
The STARs undergo a single-blind review process. To demonstrate the relevant
expertise needed to produce the proposed STAR, authors should include their
short biographies as supplementary materials.
We do not impose strict maximum lengths for these submissions. However, it

An EG2019 Think Tank submission must include the following materials and information.
● A four-page document describing the idea, the motivation and the impact that the new topic is expected to have. We strongly suggest proposers to include a short statement of colleagues in Computer Graphics that second the proposal and that will animate the Think Tank session and the brainstorming discussion. A short reference list is welcome.
● Any supporting material, such as videos, software demonstration, prototype, demos, etc.
According to their topics and scope, each EG2019 Think Tank Session will be scheduled as oral presentation of 30 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of discussion and 10 minutes of wrap-up.
EG2019 Think Tank Sessions: Important Dates & Submission
● Proposal Submission Deadline: February 4, 2019. Proposal submissions should be sent to <mailto:chairs-eg2019ws@eg.org> chairs-eg2019ws(a)eg.org and will be reviewed by international experts.
● Notification of Acceptance: March 1, 2019
After submission
● After the EG2019, the Think Tank organizers, will select 1 or 2 topics among those ones discussed during the Think Tank Sessions and will work to develop them further into submissions to Computer Graphics Forum, inviting the proposers and participants of the Think Tank sessions to contribute. We plan for each submission to consist of a coherent position article (4-12 pages) based on the extended abstract submitted for the Think Tank, a collection of scholarly commentaries (1-2 pages each) by a number of participants in the Think Tank, and a feedback statement by the author(s) of the position article.

Submission details
Electronic submission of all papers is mandatory and will be conducted using the <http://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference/EG_2019> Submission and Review Management (SRMv2) system. Papers must be written in English, must be anonymized, and must be formatted according to the Eurographics Computer Graphics Forum guidelines. The publication guidelines and LaTeX templates are available on <https://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference/EG_2019/Instruction> SRMv2. Accepted papers must be presented orally in English at Eurographics 2019. Review of full papers is based on a double-blind reviewing approach, so please be sure to remove all personal data (such as authors, affiliations, etc.) from your submission. References to your own work should be made in the third person to maintain anonymity. Reviewers are asked to keep confidential all materials sent to them for evaluation.
There is no maximum length imposed on papers. However, papers should only be as long as they need to be, but not longer. Reviewers might rank submissions perceived as being either repetitive or unnecessarily long lower than they would score concisely written papers.
Plagiarism and Prior Art
A submission to the Eurographics Full Papers program should describe an original work of the authors. Authors must not use ideas or content originating from others without properly crediting their original sources. Note that such sources are not limited to peer-reviewed publications, but also include patents, textbooks, technical reports, theses, unpublished work posted on arXiv, as well as other posts on the World Wide Web. Failure to comply with this requirement will be considered plagiarism and result in rejection.
Authors are not required to discuss and compare their work with non-peer reviewed (pre-publication) works (arXiv, technical reports, theses, etc.), although they must properly cite those that inspired them and are encouraged to mention all related works they are aware of. Authors of conditionally accepted papers should be prepared to cite pre-publications listed by reviewers in their final revision as concurrent work, but are not required to detail how their work compares to or differs from these pre-publications.
Re-submitted material
For papers that have previously been reviewed by other venues and have been rejected or withdrawn, the authors are encouraged to provide a cover letter to describe the history of the paper (however, this does not imply reviewer continuity). This cover letter can also answer the comments made in the previous reviews, by either listing the changes that were made to comply with them, or discussing/rebutting/clarifying some elements if need be. Though not mandatory, this procedure is strongly encouraged. The cover letter has to be submitted through SRM as an ‘Additional Attachment’ (see last section of the SRM upload form for details).
Graphics Replicability Stamp Initiative
Authors who are willing to go one step further toward replicability of their contributed algorithm and provide a complete open-source implementation, can get an additional recognition via submission to the Graphics Replicability Stamp Initiative (see <http://www.replicabilitystamp.org/> http://www.replicabilitystamp.org/). All articles published in the Computer Graphics Forum are eligible to apply for the stamp.
Rebuttal, Notification, Publication, and Prizes
* The reviews will be made available to the authors on November 26, 2018. During a rebuttal period from November 26 to December 3, 2018, authors will be able to submit a brief document to address any factual errors or clarify any issues raised by reviews.
* The date for notification of the results of the first round of the review process is December 19, 2018.
* Revised versions of papers conditionally accepted in the first round must be submitted by February 1st, 2019.
* The final notification of the outcome of the second reviewing round will be made on February 15, 2019.
* The camera-ready version of accepted papers will be due on March 8, 2019.
* From all accepted and presented papers, an international jury will select the best papers. The first best paper will receive the Günter Enderle Award, including a cash prize of €1,000, presented at Eurographics 2019.
