DigitalHeritage is the international event for those working on information
technology for heritage. A "federated" world congress of the leading
international societies, organizations, and events around IT for
heritage,DigitalHeritage 2015 will bring together for the second time, VSMM,
Eurographics GCH, Arqueológica 2.0, Archaeovirtual, and special events from
CAA, CIPA, Space2Place, ICOMOS ICIP, and more, all in one venue with a
prestigious joint publication. A groundbreaking public display of cutting
edge digital heritage projects will also grace the conference venue
atGranada's Alhambra and Parque de las Ciencias.
Following the successful format of the first DigitalHeritage in 2013,
theconference will have a single call for papers and a coordinated
scientific review process across all the federating events.
We are seeking original, innovative and previously unpublished contributions
in theoretical or applied Digital Heritage areas. All papers will be
double-blind peer-reviewed by at minimum 3 referees from the International
Scientific Committee. Every submission will have at least one technicaland
one cultural reviewer to ensure a rich diversity of accepted works spanning
both technology and the humanities. All submissions will be reviewed for
originality, significance, clarity, impact, and soundness.
Digital Heritage 2015 is composed of a number of parallel tracks, including
full and short papers, special sessions (tutorials, workshops and panels),
exhibitions, and special events.
SUBMISSIONS

Since this is a joint World Congress, you need to submit only once to be
considered for the integrated joint proceedings of all affiliated events.We
remind that we will have a single review process and publication.
Each submission shall indicate the specific Digital Heritage 2015 Theme (see
below) that is more relevant.
You may submit to participate in DigitalHeritage in several ways:

FULL AND SHORT PAPERS

Submitted manuscripts should not exceed 8 pages for full papers (including
figures, tables and references) and 4 pages for short paper presentations.
Authors should select a single scientific Theme for each submission.
The two best papers on each theme will be invited to submit an extended
version of the paper to a an International Journal including:

Short papers will be presented at the event by either an oral presentation
or by means of a poster and e-posters presentation. Authors of a short paper
should indicate the preferred way of presentation (Oral or Poster).
As the conference adopts a double-blind reviewing process, authors must
ensure that any information that links authors or co-authors, e.g.
affiliations, contact details, e-mails, to the paper are removed on the
paper for the first submission step. Registration details on easyChair
should remain at place.
Full and Short papers must be formatted in IEEE double column, single space
format, A4 page. The word style or the LaTeX template can be downloaded from
the IEEE site.
SPECIAL SESSIONS
----------------
Special Sessions will include: Tutorials, Workshops and Panels
For a Special Session proposal to be considered for acceptance at
DigitalHeritage 2015, the proposed topic needs to be a presentation of
teachingobjectives (tutorials), contributions to the state-of-the-art, new
initiatives or an emerging area in one of the core themes of the conference.
The topic should be timely and significantly important to the audience, and
the speakers need to convey compelling information about it.
Tutorials should be planned as half-day or full-day, at introductory,
intermediate or advanced levels, and could cover any theme among the entire
spectrum of topics of the Conference. They could focus vertically on
technology, or could demonstrate its potential for creative applications.
Tutorials are intended to show what can be done, but even more importantly,
how this is done and what kind of tools can be used to do it. While
proposing a tutorial, authors should consider that tutorial attendees come
from diverse backgrounds, ranging from research and development to
education, curatorship and applications.
Proposals for Workshops and Panels will be judged by the ability to
bringtogether key researchers from the CH as well as ICT domains, aiming at
introducing a new area to the overall community, to further develop it, and
to help establishing a larger research community beyond that area. Special
session proposals covering multi-disciplinary areas are particularly
encouraged, as well as those proposals regarding common challenges, e.g.
(and not restricted to) Methods in Archaeology, Museums and Technology, etc.
Special Session submissions (up to 4 A4-pages) should contain the following
information:
- A title and brief description of the content or topic and its relevance
to the DH community (not more than 1,500 words);
- Full contact information for all tutorial instructors or workshop
leaders, including a one-paragraph statement of their research interests and
areas of expertise;
- A short CV for each presenter, participant or authors who have agreed to
participate with their results to the session
- A description of target audience and expected number of
participants(based, if possible, on past experience);
- Any special requirements for technical support.
Additionally, Tutorial proposals should include:
- A brief outline showing that the core content can be covered in a half
day (approximately 3 hours, plus breaks). In exceptional cases, full-day
tutorials may be supported as well.
Workshop proposals must include:
- The intended length and format of the workshop and the forecasted number
of attendees;
- A proposed budget (as DH workshops are expected to be self-financing).

The community is invited to submit proposals for installations,
applications, digital artworks, or technical demos to build up the Digital
Heritage Expo at DH2015. During this important international event,
dedicated spaces for Virtual Archaeology, Virtual Museums and Digital Art
will provide an additional forum to showcase project results and present
applications. Spaces will be provided by the Science Museum and will be
accessible and open not only to the conference participants but to also to
the public. Best showcases and projects will be selected by the scientific
committee, and will be assigned space and visibility within the exhibition
area. Applications and artworks must be finished and submitted by the
deadlines defined in this call. Submissions should not exceed 4 A4-pages
(including images, references, etc.) addressing the scope of the exhibition
themes and highlight innovation (cultural/technological), impact (cognitive,
artistic, communicative), novelty of the approach, a
nd typology of the
installation/application, of the contents and of the interactive system.
Submissions might be complemented by supplementary visual material.
VISUAL MATERIAL
===============
Paper submissions, Applications, Exhibitions & Showcases are encouraged to
submit visual materials, promotional videos or multimedia presentationsthat
demonstrate and describe the results of the scientific work, project, or
exhibitor showcase. Visual Materials will be required by the scientific
committee for the selection of the best working results to be awarded. A
dedicated upload area will be provided for final paper submission.
SUBMISSION REGULATIONS
======================
Submissions will be administratively rejected without review if it is found
that:
1. The submission violates the IEEE & EG Policy and Procedures on
Plagiarism.
2. The submission is a dual submission; that is, if the submission is
simultaneously under review for any other conference or publication.
3. Electronic files have been submitted that have been designed to have side
effects other than presenting the submitted work to reviewers and committee
members (for example, a "phone home" script).
4. It appears that the paper contains material for which the submitters have
not secured the necessary copyrights.

EuroVis 2015, hosted by CRS4 in Italy, is the 17th annual visualization
gathering organized by the Eurographics Working Group on Data
Visualization and supported by the IEEE Visualization and Graphics
Technical Committee (IEEE VGTC). EuroVis has been a Eurographics
and IEEE co-supported international visualization symposium
held in Europe annually since 1999. Since 2014 EuroVis is a conference.
EuroVis2015 will take place from May 25th to May 29th in Cagliari, Sardinia,
Italy. May 25th-26th will be dedicated to co-located events, while the

29th.

EuroVis 2015 is the 17th annual scientific gathering on visualization
jointly organized by the Eurographics Working Group on Data Visualization
and the IEEE Visualization and Graphics Technical Committee.
Based on the continued growth and success of the event, EuroVis will be a
conference for the fourth time.
The posters track will present late-breaking results, work in progress, and
follow-up extensions or evaluations of existing methods. In particular, it
provides young researchers, especially postgraduate students, with valuable
opportunities to receive feedback from other researchers, and engage in
stimulating discussions.
A EuroVis poster may describe a piece of work in any aspect of
visualization. For directly-submitted posters, we particularly encourage
summary report of collaborative projects, work in progress, and application
case studies.

Submission:
We solicit poster submissions in the form of a poster and an accompanying
sketch (i.e., an extended abstract of at most 2 pages, with an additional

Posters will be peer-reviewed in a one-stage double-blind process.
Accepted poster will be presented at the poster session of the conference.
Both a PDF version of the poster and the sketch will be included on the
conference USB sticks.
Traditionally, the materials in a poster/sketch can be reused later by the
original authors for a more extensive publication (e.g., a full paper) with
more detailed content and mature results. This should not be considered as
self-plagiarism.
However, as posters/sketches are citable, researchers are encouraged to
acknowledge novel ideas and results presented in posters/sketches.

technology for heritage. A "federated" world congress of the leading
international societies, organizations, and events around IT for heritage,
DigitalHeritage 2015 will bring together for the second time, VSMM,
Eurographics GCH, Arqueológica 2.0, Archaeovirtual, and special events from
CAA, CIPA, Space2Place, ICOMOS ICIP, and more, all in one venue with a
prestigious joint publication. A groundbreaking public display of cutting
edge digital heritage projects will also grace the conference venue at
Granada's Alhambra and Parque de las Ciencias.
Following the successful format of the first DigitalHeritage in 2013, the
conference will have a single call for papers and a coordinated scientific
review process across all the federating events.
We are seeking original, innovative and previously unpublished contributions
in theoretical or applied Digital Heritage areas. All papers will be
double-blind peer-reviewed by at minimum 3 referees from the International
Scientific Committee. Every submission will have at least one technical and
one cultural reviewer to ensure a rich diversity of accepted works spanning
both technology and the humanities. All submissions will be reviewed for
originality, significance, clarity, impact, and soundness.
Digital Heritage 2015 is composed of a number of parallel tracks, including
full and short papers, special sessions (tutorials, workshops and panels),
exhibitions, and special events.

Since this is a joint World Congress, you need to submit only once to be
considered for the integrated joint proceedings of all affiliated events. We
remind that we will have a single review process and publication.
Each submission shall indicate the specific Digital Heritage 2015 Theme (see
below) that is more relevant.

Submitted manuscripts should not exceed 8 pages for full papers (including
figures, tables and references) and 4 pages for short paper presentations.
Authors should select a single scientific Theme for each submission.
The two best papers on each theme will be invited to submit an extended
version of the paper to a an International Journal including:

As the conference adopts a double-blind reviewing process, authors must
ensure that any information that links authors or co-authors, e.g.
affiliations, contact details, e-mails, to the paper are removed on the
paper for the first submission step. Registration details on easyChair
should remain at place.
Full and Short papers must be formatted in IEEE double column, single space
format, A4 page. The word style or the LaTeX template can be downloaded from

SPECIAL SESSIONS

Special Sessions will include: Tutorials, Workshops and Panels
For a Special Session proposal to be considered for acceptance at Digital
Heritage 2015, the proposed topic needs to be a presentation of teaching
objectives (tutorials), contributions to the state-of-the-art, new
initiatives or an emerging area in one of the core themes of the conference.
The topic should be timely and significantly important to the audience, and
the speakers need to convey compelling information about it.
Tutorials should be planned as half-day or full-day, at introductory,
intermediate or advanced levels, and could cover any theme among the entire
spectrum of topics of the Conference. They could focus vertically on
technology, or could demonstrate its potential for creative applications.
Tutorials are intended to show what can be done, but even more importantly,
how this is done and what kind of tools can be used to do it. While
proposing a tutorial, authors should consider that tutorial attendees come
from diverse backgrounds, ranging from research and development to
education, curatorship and applications.
Proposals for Workshops and Panels will be judged by the ability to bring
together key researchers from the CH as well as ICT domains, aiming at
introducing a new area to the overall community, to further develop it, and
to help establishing a larger research community beyond that area. Special
session proposals covering multi-disciplinary areas are particularly
encouraged, as well as those proposals regarding common challenges, e.g.
(and not restricted to) Methods in Archaeology, Museums and Technology, etc.
Special Session submissions (up to 4 A4-pages) should contain the following
information:
- A title and brief description of the content or topic and its relevance
to the DH community (not more than 1,500 words);
- Full contact information for all tutorial instructors or workshop
leaders, including a one-paragraph statement of their research interests and
areas of expertise;
- A short CV for each presenter, participant or authors who have agreed to
participate with their results to the session
- A description of target audience and expected number of participants
(based, if possible, on past experience);
- Any special requirements for technical support.
Additionally, Tutorial proposals should include:
- A brief outline showing that the core content can be covered in a half day
(approximately 3 hours, plus breaks). In exceptional cases, full-day
tutorials may be supported as well.
Workshop proposals must include:
- The intended length and format of the workshop and the forecasted number
of attendees;
- A proposed budget (as DH workshops are expected to be self-financing).

The community is invited to submit proposals for installations,
applications, digital artworks, or technical demos to build up the Digital
Heritage Expo at DH2015. During this important international event,
dedicated spaces for Virtual Archaeology, Virtual Museums and Digital Art
will provide an additional forum to showcase project results and present
applications. Spaces will be provided by the Science Museum and will be
accessible and open not only to the conference participants but to also to
the public. Best showcases and projects will be selected by the scientific
committee, and will be assigned space and visibility within the exhibition
area. Applications and artworks must be finished and submitted by the
deadlines defined in this call. Submissions should not exceed 4 A4-pages
(including images, references, etc.) addressing the scope of the exhibition
themes and highlight innovation (cultural/technological), impact (cognitive,
artistic, communicative), novelty of the approach, and typology of the
installation/application, of the contents and of the interactive system.
Submissions might be complemented by supplementary visual material.
VISUAL MATERIAL
===============
Paper submissions, Applications, Exhibitions & Showcases are encouraged to
submit visual materials, promotional videos or multimedia presentations that
demonstrate and describe the results of the scientific work, project, or
exhibitor showcase. Visual Materials will be required by the scientific
committee for the selection of the best working results to be awarded. A
dedicated upload area will be provided for final paper submission.
SUBMISSION REGULATIONS
======================
Submissions will be administratively rejected without review if it is found
that:
1. The submission violates the IEEE & EG Policy and Procedures on
Plagiarism.
2. The submission is a dual submission; that is, if the submission is
simultaneously under review for any other conference or publication.

Research Focus and Environment
Due to recent advances in 3D acquisition and modeling, increasingly large
amounts of 3D shape data
become available in many application domains. Coping with large 3D shape
data requires effective and
efficient techniques to support 3D searching, exploring, analyzing and
processing tasks. Our research
group works on feature-based approaches for 3D shape retrieval including
sketch- and example-based
methods; clustering and classification of shape repositories for annotation
and visual exploration; and on
similarity-based methods for restoration of fragmented or incomplete shapes.
The successful candidate will contribute to the group's research efforts by
developing, applying and
evaluating novel feature-based shape analysis methods to support one or more
of the above mentioned
problems. The methods to be researched are informed by new application needs
in domains such
as Computer Aided Design and Digital Archeology. The researcher will
collaborate with experts from
relevant application domains to gather requirements, experimental data, and
perform joint evaluation.

DigitalHeritage is the international event for those working on information
technology for heritage. A "federated" world congress of the leading
international societies, organizations, and events around IT for heritage,
DigitalHeritage 2015 will bring together for the second time, VSMM,
Eurographics GCH, Arqueológica 2.0, Archaeovirtual, and special events from
CAA, CIPA, Space2Place, ICOMOS ICIP, and more, all in one venue with a
prestigious joint publication. A groundbreaking public display of cutting
edge digital heritage projects will also grace the conference venue at
Granada's Alhambra and Parque de las Ciencias.
Following the successful format of the first DigitalHeritage in 2013, the
conference will have a single call for papers and a coordinated scientific
review process across all the federating events.
We are seeking original, innovative and previously unpublished contributions
in theoretical or applied Digital Heritage areas. All papers will be
double-blind peer-reviewed by at minimum 3 referees from the International
Scientific Committee. Every submission will have at least one technical and
one cultural reviewer to ensure a rich diversity of accepted works spanning
both technology and the humanities. All submissions will be reviewed for
originality, significance, clarity, impact, and soundness.
Digital Heritage 2015 is composed of a number of parallel tracks, including
full and short papers, special sessions (tutorials, workshops and panels),
exhibitions, and special events.
SUBMISSIONS

Since this is a joint World Congress, you need to submit only once to be
considered for the integrated joint proceedings of all affiliated events. We
remind that we will have a single review process and publication.
Each submission shall indicate the specific Digital Heritage 2015 Theme (see
below) that is more relevant.
You may submit to participate in DigitalHeritage in several ways:

FULL AND SHORT PAPERS

Submitted manuscripts should not exceed 8 pages for full papers (including
figures, tables and references) and 4 pages for short paper presentations.
Authors should select a single scientific Theme for each submission.
The two best papers on each theme will be invited to submit an extended
version of the paper to a an International Journal including:

should indicate the preferred way of presentation (Oral or Poster).
As the conference adopts a double-blind reviewing process, authors must
ensure that any information that links authors or co-authors, e.g.
affiliations, contact details, e-mails, to the paper are removed on the
paper for the first submission step. Registration details on easyChair
should remain at place.
Full and Short papers must be formatted in IEEE double column, single space
format, A4 page. The word style or the LaTeX template can be downloaded from
the IEEE site.
SPECIAL SESSIONS
----------------
Special Sessions will include: Tutorials, Workshops and Panels
For a Special Session proposal to be considered for acceptance at Digital
Heritage 2015, the proposed topic needs to be a presentation of teaching
objectives (tutorials), contributions to the state-of-the-art, new
initiatives or an emerging area in one of the core themes of the conference.
The topic should be timely and significantly important to the audience, and
the speakers need to convey compelling information about it.
Tutorials should be planned as half-day or full-day, at introductory,
intermediate or advanced levels, and could cover any theme among the entire
spectrum of topics of the Conference. They could focus vertically on
technology, or could demonstrate its potential for creative applications.
Tutorials are intended to show what can be done, but even more importantly,
how this is done and what kind of tools can be used to do it. While
proposing a tutorial, authors should consider that tutorial attendees come
from diverse backgrounds, ranging from research and development to
education, curatorship and applications.
Proposals for Workshops and Panels will be judged by the ability to bring
together key researchers from the CH as well as ICT domains, aiming at
introducing a new area to the overall community, to further develop it, and
to help establishing a larger research community beyond that area. Special
session proposals covering multi-disciplinary areas are particularly
encouraged, as well as those proposals regarding common challenges, e.g.
(and not restricted to) Methods in Archaeology, Museums and Technology, etc.
Special Session submissions (up to 4 A4-pages) should contain the following
information:
- A title and brief description of the content or topic and its relevance
to the DH community (not more than 1,500 words);
- Full contact information for all tutorial instructors or workshop
leaders, including a one-paragraph statement of their research interests and
areas of expertise;
- A short CV for each presenter, participant or authors who have agreed to
participate with their results to the session
- A description of target audience and expected number of participants
(based, if possible, on past experience);
- Any special requirements for technical support.
Additionally, Tutorial proposals should include:
- A brief outline showing that the core content can be covered in a half day
(approximately 3 hours, plus breaks). In exceptional cases, full-day
tutorials may be supported as well.
Workshop proposals must include:
- The intended length and format of the workshop and the forecasted number
of attendees;
- A proposed budget (as DH workshops are expected to be self-financing).

The community is invited to submit proposals for installations,
applications, digital artworks, or technical demos to build up the Digital
Heritage Expo at DH2015. During this important international event,
dedicated spaces for Virtual Archaeology, Virtual Museums and Digital Art
will provide an additional forum to showcase project results and present
applications. Spaces will be provided by the Science Museum and will be
accessible and open not only to the conference participants but to also to
the public. Best showcases and projects will be selected by the scientific
committee, and will be assigned space and visibility within the exhibition
area. Applications and artworks must be finished and submitted by the
deadlines defined in this call. Submissions should not exceed 4 A4-pages
(including images, references, etc.) addressing the scope of the exhibition
themes and highlight innovation (cultural/technological), impact (cognitive,
artistic, communicative), novelty of the approach, and typology of the
installation/application, of the contents and of the interactive system.
Submissions might be complemented by supplementary visual material.
VISUAL MATERIAL
===============
Paper submissions, Applications, Exhibitions & Showcases are encouraged to
submit visual materials, promotional videos or multimedia presentations that
demonstrate and describe the results of the scientific work, project, or
exhibitor showcase. Visual Materials will be required by the scientific
committee for the selection of the best working results to be awarded. A
dedicated upload area will be provided for final paper submission.
SUBMISSION REGULATIONS
======================
Submissions will be administratively rejected without review if it is found
that:
1. The submission violates the IEEE & EG Policy and Procedures on
Plagiarism.
2. The submission is a dual submission; that is, if the submission is
simultaneously under review for any other conference or publication.
3. Electronic files have been submitted that have been designed to have side
effects other than presenting the submitted work to reviewers and committee
members (for example, a "phone home" script).
4. It appears that the paper contains material for which the submitters have
not secured the necessary copyrights.

We are looking for talented researchers who will work within the

The expressive use of virtual cameras, mise-en-scene, lighting and editing
(montage) within 3D synthetic environment shows great promise to extend the
communicative power of film and video into the artificial environments of
games and virtual worlds.
Cinematics produced in virtual worlds play a role not just for
entertainment, but also for training, education, health-care communication,
simulation, visualization and many other contexts. The automatic creation of
cinematics in these environments holds the potential to produce video
sequences appropriate for the wide range of applications and tailored to
specific spatial, temporal, communicative, user and application contexts.
At the same time, recent advances in computer vision-based object, actor and
action recognition make it possible to envision novel re-cinematography
(re-lighting, re-framing) and automatic editing of live-action video. This
third workshop on intelligent cinematography and editing is intended to
bridge the gap between the two areas and confront research being performed
in both domains. One common area of active research is the representation
and understanding of the story to be told and its relation to teaching,
training or therapeutic goals.
The workshop is open to researchers and industrial experts working on the
many related aspects of digital cinematography and film editing in their
respective fields, including 3D graphics, artificial intelligence, computer
vision, visualisation, interactive narrative, cognitive and perceptual
psychology, computational linguistics, computational aesthetics and visual
effects.
These researchers will draw upon cutting edge research and technologies

Call for Papers

We welcome the submission of papers presenting original work in Web3D
research and application on the topics including but not limited to as
described above. All submissions will be peer-reviewed for quality and
contribution by the conference International Program Committee. In
collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief of Graphical Models, the best papers
of Web3D 2015 will be invited to submit their extended versions for
publication in a forthcoming special issue of the journal after an
additional review cycle.

The research group Graphics, Capture and Massively Parallel Computing (GCC,
Prof. Goesele) in the Department of Computer Science
at TU Darmstadt has a job opening for a
Research Associate/Ph.D. Student
for an initial term of 3 years.
The research group Graphics, Capture and Massively Parallel Computing has a
strong interest in efficient reconstruction of 3D geometry
models from image, video and depth sensor data. The position is focused on
developing and evaluating efficient methods for the
reconstruction of high quality 3D geometry models from uncontrolled, very
large scale and temporarily varying data. It is partially
funded by the group´s EU projects (in particular the Harvest4D project) so
that an active participation in these international
cooperations is expected. The successful candidate will also participate in
the groups teaching activities.
The position requires a Masters or Diploma degree in Computer Science or a
related field and a deep knowledge of computer graphics
and/or computer vision (in particular geometry processing, 3D
reconstruction). The candidate should have a very good knowledge of
C/C++ and ideally also have a very good knowledge in parallel or massively
parallel programming. In addition, she/he is expected to
be able to independently work on scientific problems and should have a
strong proficiency of spoken and written English.
The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications
of the candidate. Opportunity for further qualification
(doctoral dissertation) is given.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of

Call for Papers
EG VCBM is now an annual event addressing state-of-the-art visual computing
research with a strong focus on applications in biology and medicine. EG
VCBM is unique, as it provides a highly interdisciplinary forum for experts
from computer graphics, visualization, computer vision, visual analytics,
human computer interfaces and end users from biology and medicine jointly
working on next generation visual computing solutions for healthcare and the
biotechnology sector.
EG VCBM solicits the submission of original application-oriented research
papers that advance the fusion of visual computing methods within medicine
and biological science. All papers should focus on a well-defined biological
or medical problem, and should demonstrate a significant innovation or
improvement in visual computing.
Suggested topics for papers include, but are not limited to:
* Medical simulation, including uses of stereoscopy and haptics
* Virtual physiological human
* Visual computing solutions for medical applications like radiology,

Institute of Computer Graphics and

is for three years and includes a one-year exchange with the Nanyang
Technical University in Singapore.
Description of the project:
The goal of the project is to make it easier to produce good coarse 3D
meshes from densely scanned
data.
We have methods for finding curvatures and features in a point cloud or
triangle mesh and, based on
those, developed a software tool which aids the manual generation of good
subdivision control meshes
from scan data.
You will investigate methods to automatically reduce a point cloud or
triangle mesh to a good coarse
subdivision base mesh. A good subdivision mesh is not only accurate and
coarse but also regular. The
method for finding high quality quadrilateral representations should be
general and applicable to complex
meshes of arbitrary topology.
Requirements:
We are seeking a highly motivated student interested in the field of
Computer Aided Geometric Design
and Geometry Processing. The applicant ideally has a good understanding of
geometry modeling and
analysis. Due to the computational nature of the project, programming skills
are required.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Position - Graphics and Interaction - University of
Cambridge
The Faculty of Computer Science and Technology at the University of
Cambridge is seeking a lecturer in the broad research area of graphics and
interaction. We are looking to recruit someone who can contribute to the
Faculty's research in one or more of the following areas:
-novel interaction technologies;
-interactive applications of computer vision and machine learning; -computer
graphics.
The ideal candidate will have a practical inclination: tackling real world
problems before the real world realises there is a problem, and able to
articulate that vision as a leader in the international research
communities. We would like to appoint someone who can envisage the future of
technology and build early prototypes to investigate systems and usability
before the technology becomes commercial.
The broad area of graphics and interaction is one in which there is
considerable scope for cooperative research within the Faculty and beyond.
Existing staff in this area include: Peter Robinson (novel interaction
technologies and affective computing), Richard Mortier (interaction with
domestic networks), Rob Harle (location sensing at various granularities),
Cecilia Mascolo (mobile systems), Neil Dodgson (displays and computer-aided
