Call for papers
Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished research and
application papers addressing all areas of 3D/4D Object Retrieval.
State-of-the-art papers on specific topics of interest are particularly
welcome. Submissions are invited in the form of full papers and short
papers. Full papers will be peer-reviewed by a two-stage review process, and
published as a special section of the
<https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/computers-and-graphics> Computers &
Graphics Journal (Elsevier). Short papers will follow a one-stage review
process and will appear in the <https://diglib.eg.org/handle/10.2312/307>

The *EuroVis PhD Award* recognizes outstanding dissertations in academic research and development covering topics relevant to visualization. The intent of this award is to recognize excellent young researchers in their early career and to highlight visualization research.
Eligibility:
All dissertations by PhD researchers from the European visualization community (e.g., through contributions to the EuroVis conference) that were defended and awarded a doctoral degree between Jan 1, 2022 and Dec 31, 2023 are eligible for the 2024 competition.
Submission:
The PhD researcher's advisor should nominate the candidate using this online form:

The nomination package must include:
- A nomination letter written by the advisor including the name, email address, CV and publication list of the candidate, the dates when the dissertation was defended and when the degree was awarded, and a one-page summary of the significance of the dissertation.

VisGap - The Gap between Visualization Research and Visualization Software

Over the years, many visualization methods and tools have been developed and published by the visualization research community. However, most of these are prototypes and never reach a state that can be reliably used by the target audience, e.g., domain scientists. Also, availability of these prototypes as source code or at least as executables is still the exception rather than the norm. The VisGap workshop aims to shed light on this gap between research and practical applicability, examine the obstacles every researcher faces, and propose solutions to overcome this problem as a community.
VisGap'24 aims at gathering experts from all over the visualization community in order to advance the way our field works with software, sustains software, and values the effort our members put into developing said software. **The scope of VisGap also includes reproducibility and replicability. Both are cornerstones of the scientific method and essential for building trust in visualizations and increasing their acceptance, ultimately fostering adoption in the wild. We also explicitly solicit contributions about visualization systems and tools, and their employment in research and practice.**
We solicit papers with 4-8 pages, with one additional page allowed for references. All submissions must be original works that have not been published previously in any conference proceedings, magazine, journal, or edited book, or must present a substantial extension of previous work (at least 30%). Papers must be submitted through PCS (https://new.precisionconference.com/). All submissions will undergo a single-blind, single-stage peer review process. Accepted papers will be published by the Eurographics Association, and be stored in the Eurographics Digital Library. At least one author of each accepted paper must register and participate in the VisGap'24 workshop to present their work.

- Requirements for successful visualization in applications in general
- Domain-specific requirements for visualizations
- Reflections on the research community and the visualization software ecosystem

CLIPE workshop at EG2024: CREATING LIVELY INTERACTIVE POPULATED ENVIRONMENTS
Advances in technology are pushing towards making VR/AR worlds a daily experience. Whilst virtual characters are an important component of these worlds, bringing them to life and giving them interaction and communication abilities requires highly specialized programming combined with artistic skills, and considerable investments: millions spent on countless coders and designers to develop video-games is a typical example. The objective of CLIPE is to design the next-generation of VR-ready characters. This workshop is part of an MSCA-ITN project also called CLIPE (https://www.clipe-itn.eu <https://www.clipe-itn.eu/> ) that started in 2020 and has been addressing the most important current aspects of the problem, making the characters capable of:
* Behaving more naturally;
* Interacting with real users sharing a virtual experience with them;
* Being more intuitively and extensively controllable for virtual worlds designers.
To meet the goals, there is a need for multidisciplinary research on VR/AR, computer graphics, computer animation, psychology and perception. This workshop will present the results of the CLIPE project, but is also opened to publications from other researchers.
CALL FOR PAPERS
This workshop will be co-Located with Eurographics 2024 and invites researchers to submit original research papers related to modeling and animation of humans and/or crowds. The workshop welcomes both technical papers and position papers, and authors may also submit work in progress. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
* Modeling and animation of humanoid characters
* authoring virtual human behavior
* Expressive character animation (e.g. face, gaze, gestures, ...)
* Capture of human appearance and movement.

EuroVis short papers present late-breaking results, work in progress, and
follow-up extensions, or evaluations of existing methods. Short papers may
cover all areas of visualization and describe more focused and concise
research contributions and are likely to have a smaller - yet still
significant - scope of contribution than full papers. Short papers draw from
the same paper types as full papers, as well as the same list of suggested
topics. The following descriptive examples may be helpful in understanding
what kinds of submissions may be suitable for short papers:
- A new visualization approach and sufficient evidence of its utility.
- Incremental improvements or variations of known approaches and their
convincing evaluation.
- An extensive evaluation of existing techniques or systems.
- Well-proven counter examples that enhance our understanding of the
strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of existing visualizations.
- Discussions or reflections - potentially controversial - of current
visualization practice that substantially advance our understanding of
visualization.

Call for Doctoral Consortium
The Eurographics Doctoral Consortium is a networking event that provides PhD students, working in all areas of computer graphics, with an excellent opportunity to present their work and interact with distinguished and experienced researchers in the field. They will receive feedback and mentoring, as well as a different perspective from senior researchers outside their home institution. In addition, the Doctoral Consortium provides a unique forum for PhD students to share their work and experience among their fellow PhD students. Thanks to Meta’s generous sponsorship, accepted students will receive a complimentary registration to the full Eurographics 2024 conference. The Doctoral Consortium will take place within the Eurographics’2024 conference, April 22-26, 2024, Limassol, Cyprus.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
PhD students working in all areas of computer graphics are encouraged to apply. We particularly encourage applications from students who are in the first half of their PhD work, especially those who already have a clear research direction (possibly with some published results), as they have sufficient time ahead to profit from their participation in the Doctoral Consortium. Students who are close to finishing their doctorate degree, or have very recently finished it, are also welcome to share their experience and to discuss their ongoing research and future research plans.
The applicants are strongly encouraged to consider submitting a poster of their work to the poster track in parallel.

Eligible Doctoral Consortium students who would like to participate in the Doctoral Consortium should submit the following documents as a single PDF file:
1. Research Statement: A 3-4 pages extended abstract summarizing their dissertation research, singly authored by themself. The submissions should NOT be anonymous. The use of figures is encouraged. This document should include:
* university doctoral program context (e.g.program duration/funding) in which the work is being conducted, including starting date and expected graduation date;
* motivation that drives the dissertation research;
* research objectives/questions;
* background and related work that informs the author’s research;
* research approach, methodology and proposed experiments (where appropriate);
* dissertation status and a description of the remaining work;
* current and expected contributions.
2. The research statement should transcend the scope of a single publication or project, and instead focus on the general research theme or agenda for the student’s PhD thesis.
3. Supervisor’s letter of support: A one-page signed letter from the PhD student’s supervisor, supporting her/his participation in the Doctoral Consortium, and providing the following information:
* the student’s status with respect to the institution’s PhD requirements;
* the expected date of thesis/dissertation defense or graduation;
* why attendance at this Doctoral Consortium would be particularly beneficial to the student;
* what contributions the student is likely to make to the event if invited to attend.
4. Curriculum vitae: A 1-2 pages CV plus the list of all publications.
All three documents must be written in English.
REVIEW PROCESS
The review process is single-anonymous. The review and decision of acceptance will take into account: (1) Quality of the submission (potential contribution and impact of the research to the field of computer graphics) and the author’s stage of doctoral research; (2) the benefits of the consortium for the author’s PhD research; (3) the author’s contribution to the diversity of topics, backgrounds and profiles that will integrate the Consortium.
Each accepted author will be paired with a panelist, a senior researcher in their research field, with whom they will be interacting in a one-to-one manner.
PARTICIPATION
All authors of accepted submissions are expected to attend the Doctoral Consortium, where they will present their work to a panel of experts, selected by the Doctoral Consortium co-chairs to match at best the topics related to the accepted submissions.
The doctoral consortium event will be a closed event with only the authors and the panelists present. The authors will start by presenting their work (around 10 minutes each) followed by discussion with the panelists and other authors. Afterwards, there will be time for one-to-one discussions between each author and their paired panelist.

Authors are invited to submit proposals for poster presentations of recent results, work in progress, new ideas, and other smaller projects which may be of interest to the general community, but which are still too speculative, incomplete or not of sufficient extent to warrant a (full or short) paper. We encourage submissions from all areas related to computer graphics, such as rendering, modeling, visualization, perception, animation, simulation, virtual reality, and imaging. Submissions from computer vision and machine learning areas are also invited to the Posters track.
One or more authors of accepted posters are expected to be physically present at the conference, to discuss their work and answer questions during the poster session. Accepted posters and the final papers will be included in the digital media with the proceedings and other material.

The workshop "Visualization in Environmental Sciences 2024" (EnvirVis 2024)
is a co-located event of <http://www.eurovis.org/> EuroVis 2024 held in
Odense, Denmark, on May 27, 2024. The EnvirVis-Workshop aims to bring
together researchers in the area of visualization of geo-scientific,
environmental, atmospheric, or climate data to present and discuss recent
developments in the field.
Scope
The workshop "Visualization in Environmental Sciences" invites both
contributions in the fields of scientific visualization and visual data
integration with a broad application area in environmental research,
decision-making and public outreach. The proposed scope includes, but is not

Call for Short Papers
Authors are invited to submit short papers [4 pages max] that present self-contained, complete, compact works on all areas related to computer graphics, such as rendering, modeling, visualization, animation, simulation, virtual reality, computer vision, computer-aided design, digital fabrication, imaging and computational photography. We particularly invite submissions which present tangible and practically useful improvements to the state of the art, but which are not thematically wide enough to justify an entire full paper. What we would like to see as short papers are individual smart ideas and intriguing findings that might otherwise remain unpublished, due to them standing in isolation – as opposed to falling within the context of some larger scientific endeavour, where they can be easily mentioned in the corresponding publication.
Accepted short papers will be published in the Short Papers digital media proceedings and in the Eurographics Digital Library. Authors of accepted papers will be expected to present their work as an oral presentation at the conference.

Submission details
Submissions will be made electronically through the Eurographics <https://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference/EG_2024S> Submission and Review Management (SRM) system. Submitted papers must be anonymous, up to 4 pages in length, and formatted according to the Eurographics Author’s guidelines (short papers LaTeX style package available from the <https://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference/EG_2022/Instruction> SRM system).
Authors of accepted papers will present a super short summary or a teaser during a fast-forward session. This presentation will be around 25 seconds (exact length to be decided) and shall be augmented by slides. To ensure a smooth organization, they will be asked to prepare a short video of the slides for this purpose, in two versions: one with the spoken text and one without. These FF presentations will be available on the web throughout the conference. Details will be sent to accepted paper authors.
Plagiarism
A submission to the Eurographics Short Papers program should describe an original work of the authors. Authors must not use ideas or content originating from others without properly crediting their original sources. Note that such sources are not limited to peer-reviewed publications but also include patents, textbooks, technical reports, theses, unpublished work posted on arXiv, and other posts on the World Wide Web. Failure to comply with this requirement will be considered plagiarism and result in rejection.
Prior Art
Authors are expected to cite, discuss differences and novelty, and compare results, if applicable, with respect to relevant existing publications, provided they have been published in a peer-reviewed venue.
This also applies to patents, which also undergo a professional reviewing process. But what about technical reports, and other non-peer-reviewed publications, such as technical reports or papers posted on arXiv, which we henceforth refer to as pre-publications? With the rapid progress of search engines and the increased perusal of arXiv papers by the scientific community, asking authors to thoroughly compare their work to these pre-publications imposes an unreasonable burden — a seemingly relevant report that is incomplete in its disclosure or validation might appear online shortly before the deadline. Although peer-reviewed publications are certainly not immune to these shortcomings, they have, at least, been judged sufficiently complete and valid by a group of peers. Consequently, authors are not required to discuss and compare their work with recent pre-publications (arXiv, technical reports, theses, etc.), although they must properly cite those that inspired them (see “Plagiarism” above). Nevertheless, we encourage authors to mention all related works they are aware of as good academic practice dictates. Note that with new works posted on arXiv on a daily basis, it is increasingly likely that reviewers might point out similarities between the submitted work and online reports that have been missed by the authors. In this case, authors of conditionally accepted papers should be prepared to cite these pre-publications in their final revision as concurrent work, without the burden of having to detail how their work compares to or differs from these pre-publications.
arXiv Policy
As authors, putting a submission on a repository like arXiv is allowed, either before submission or during the review cycle. There is no penalty for publishing a submission as a prepublication. However, if there are largely overlapping prepublications of the same authors that are available online at the time of submission (arXiv), earlier or largely similar versions of the submission should not be cited in the submission because this would identify the authors. This is consistent with the submission guidelines at SIGGRAPH and CVPR/ECCV/ICCV. After submission, the authors should try to preserve the anonymity of the submission. Specifically, the following list clarifies what is allowed and what not.
Allowed:
* arXiv postings before and after the submission deadline. Do not state that the submission is under review for Eurographics.
* YouTube video on personal account. Do not show submission id or anything that could relate to as a Eurographics submission. Authors can link the videos from the arXiv page or personal web page.
* Code release on personal code repositories (e.g., github). Authors can link the code repository from the arXiv or personal web page.
* It is ok to list submissions in job applications and in interviews as long as they are not referred to as Eurographics submissions.
* It is ok to present the work in non-public venues in particular job talks as long as they are not referred to as Eurographics submissions.
* It is ok to list submissions on author’s webpages as long as they are not referred to as Eurographics submissions.
* It is ok to publicize the work via authors’ social media as long as they are not referred to as Eurographics submissions.
Not allowed:
* It is not allowed to list submissions on institutional websites irrespective of the presentation form.
* No publicity via university or company PR teams regardless of whether authors or institutions are kept anonymous – this includes any postings or dissemination via institutional or promoted social media accounts.
* No media interviews regardless of mainstream media or tech-focused outlets (small-scale, non-public seminars are allowed).
* Do not post papers or supplementary material on university, company, or other private servers that may identify preprints as Eurographics submissions.

Call for Education Papers
The scope of the track includes topics in education concerned with computer graphics and related areas, relevant teaching/classroom experience, as well as assignments for use in these subject areas. We invite authors to submit papers, panels and outstanding student projects specifically related but not limited to the following topics:
1. Teaching Computer Graphics courses to diverse audiences.
2. Teaching related areas such as Visualisation, Animation, VR/AR/XR, 3D printing, Game Development.
3. Designing and teaching online and hybrid courses in the areas mentioned above.
4. Enabling and exploiting visual tools and techniques to teach in other disciplines.
5. Promoting undergraduate research in Computer Graphics.
We invite authors to submit their contributions that fall into one of the following categories:
* Regular papers[max. 8 pages]
describing the experience of educators in the fields listed above, bringing ideas on how to make the education process more efficient and interesting, attracting students to further research work, discussing innovative opportunities, etc. Whenever possible, we encourage authors to provide evidence of their effectiveness.
* (Catching) assignments[max. 4 pages]
explaining real assignments, providing examples of handouts and starter codes and examples of student works. Explanations and descriptions of when and how to implement and facilitate the assignments in a semester (e.g., orchestration details) are highly recommended. Providing a description of the assessment method is also suggested. Authors may provide all relevant artifacts as supplementary materials during submission, and agree to provide access to them online upon acceptance.
* Outstanding student projects(individual or group) [max. 2 pages]
should describe the learning context for the project and show how the student(s) brought creativity to their work. Upon acceptance, authors are expected to demonstrate the project during their presentation.

Introduction
The general objective of the 3D Shape Retrieval Challenge is to evaluate the
effectiveness of 3D-shape retrieval algorithms. SHREC2024 is the nineteenth
edition of the challenge. Like previous years, it is organized in
conjunction with the Eurographics Symposium on 3D Object Retrieval, where
the results will be reviewed and presented at the symposium.
Thanks to the efforts of previous track organizers, SHREC already provides
many resources to compare and evaluate 3D retrieval methods. For this year's
contest, we aim to explore new and updated tracks. Therefore, the
participants are invited to have an active role in the organization of the
event. This includes proposing track themes, building or acquiring a
training and test collection, and deciding upon the queries, relevance
assessment, and performance measures.
The participants of each track will collectively write a paper, which will
be peer reviewed, and published in Computers & Graphics upon acceptance. At
least one author per track must register for the symposium, and present the
results. The registration must be unique for the paper, multiple papers on
one registration does not count. We also cordially invite all other
participants of a track to register and attend the workshop.
Tracks
The tracks organized in the past years have covered different aspects and
tasks of 3D shape retrieval, for example: rigid or non-rigid models; partial
(e.g. range scan) or complete models; sketch-based 3D retrieval; generic or
domain specific models (e.g. CAD, biometrics, architectural and molecular),
and various aspects such as metric learning, outlier detection,
correspondence, robustness, stability, registration, classification,
recognition, pose estimation, and machine learning, and change detection.
Now we solicit again proposals for tracks. You may opt for one of the above
themes, or propose new ones. Track organizers are responsible for all
aspects of organizing the track, such as: the task, the data collection
(copyright issues, etc.), the queries, the ground truth, the experimental
design, the evaluation method, the procedural aspects, writing the final
paper in collaboration with the collaborators, and submitting it. See below
for examples of previous SHREC editions. We strongly encourage to consider

* Each track is performed according to its own schedule, compliant
with the worskop submission and reviewing schedule.
* The track organizers collect the results.
* The track results are combined into a joint paper. Papers are
subject to peer review, accepted journal papers are published in Computers &
Graphics.

The 2024 Workshop on Visual Process Analytics (Vipra 2024) is the 1st annual workshop that provides an opportunity for participants to discuss state-of-the-art event visualization and process mining and learn how both techniques can mutually benefit each other. In this workshop we aim to bring together researchers from both Visual Analytics and Process Mining, to learn, create a common language, spark collaborations, and advance both fields.
Process Mining is a data-driven discipline that focuses on extracting valuable insights and knowledge from the vast amount of event data generated within organizations. It involves the discovery, analysis, and improvement of process models by leveraging techniques from data science, machine learning, and data analytics. By examining event logs and historical data, process mining aims to provide a clear, objective view of how processes actually operate, identifying bottlenecks, deviations, and opportunities for optimization. In turn, this supports organizations in making more data-informed decisions, and enhance operational efficiency.
Visual analytics is an interdisciplinary field that combines data visualization, analytical techniques, and interactive interfaces to help people make sense of complex and often large datasets. It focuses on using the power of visual representations to facilitate data exploration, pattern recognition, and decision-making. By enabling users to interact with data through graphical interfaces, visual analytics promotes a deeper understanding of information, uncovers hidden insights, and supports the detection of trends, anomalies, and relationships that might be challenging to discern through traditional data analysis methods alone.
We believe that process mining and visual analytics can mutually benefit each other. Until now, there has been limited interaction between the two fields, despite their shared objectives. In process mining, the emphasis has traditionally been on data extraction and process discovery, often neglecting the visualization aspect, whereas in visual analytics, event visualization efforts have often overlooked the wealth of process mining techniques that can enhance visualizations and analysis. Bridging this gap and fostering collaboration between the two fields will not only lead to more informed, efficient, and data-driven improvements in various domains but also advance the research and innovation in both process mining and visual analytics, ultimately contributing to a more holistic and integrated approach to understanding and optimizing complex processes.
Topics and Scope

We encourage submissions from all areas on the intersection of visual analytics and process mining.
The 2024 Workshop on Visual Process Analytics will cover a range of topics exploring the intersection of PM and VA including (but not limited to):
- VA to support exploration and comparison of discovered process models
- VA to support the comparison of event logs and process models, e.g., in conformance checking
- VA to support the generation of hypotheses about the business process and the identification of process improvement ideas
- VA to represent temporal and spatial uncertainty in PM models
- Research challenges, pitfalls, and opportunities related to the intersection of VA and PM
- The role of AI in PM, and how Visualization and explainable-AI solutions can support model comprehension, exploration, and refinement

PARTICIPATION MODALITIES

MODALITY “CEIG 2024 PRESENTATION (FULL PAPERS)”

All papers must have, at a minimum, the title and abstract in English, although the rest of the article and the presentation in the conference sessions can be done in both Spanish and English. The review process is double-blind, so the submitted paper must be anonymous, eliminating all direct references or indirectly to the authors or their affiliation.
Contributions submitted as papers must present research, practice and experience, and original applications. The maximum length of a presentation will be 10 pages. The details of how to send this modality will be published on the conference website.
Those papers that stand out for their quality, and that are entirely written in English, will be published in the magazine Computers & Graphics, as a special section. These articles will be subjected to an additional review cycle before publication. The selection of these presentations will be carried out by an advisory committee at the request of the presidents of the program committee.
Accepted papers not published in Computers & Graphics will be included, by default, in the conference proceedings. However, authors may decide that their paper appears only in “summary with presentation” mode. The proceedings of CEIG2024 will be published in OpenAccess format in the Eurographics Digital Library (EG Digital Library), with a DOI.
“SUMMARY WITH PRESENTATION” MODALITY:

As in previous editions, authors may decide that their paper (title and abstract) appears in the program and is presented like any other, but does not appear in the official proceedings. This can be especially useful for work in progress that authors want to submit to another conference or journal. The authors will have a presentation session in which attendees will be able to ask questions and suggest improvements for the final version of the article, in addition to benefiting from a complete and identical review cycle to that received by the rest of the papers sent to the CEIG. For this modality, the authors must send the paper like any other article of the conference, indicating that their article is sent within this modality.
“ALREADY PUBLISHED PAPERS” MODALITY

The CEIG is a meeting point for the Computer Graphics community in Spain. Therefore, the presentation of recent quality papers already published in other conferences or magazines is invited. These articles will appear in the program and will be presented like the rest of the CEIG papers, but they will not appear in the official proceedings of the conference. The details of how to send already published papers will be published on the conference website.
“SHORT PAPERS” MODALITY

The CEIG 2024 short papers will present recent results, work in progress, and new ideas. The papers, of a maximum of 4 pages, will be published in the conference proceedings. During the event, the presentations of short papers will be shorter than the presentations. The details of how to submit short papers will be published on the conference website.
A special call is made for the presentation of short papers for the “TFMs” session, where the Master's Theses related to the scope of the conference, that have been defended in the 2022/2023 academic year, or that are being carried out in the 2023/2024 academic year, will be presented. They will be included in the proceedings unless the authors explicitly express otherwise.
“POSTERS” MODALITY
------------------------------------
Poster submission will consist of a one or two-page summary of the poster content. The details of how to send posters will be published on the conference website. Posters may be presented in two modalities:
** Original papers: will present recent results, work in progress, new ideas, and other projects that may be of interest to the general community, but are too speculative, incomplete, or not of sufficient excellence to result in a presentation. They will be presented in a Fast Forward session to those attending the conference. A special call is made to the presentation of Final Degree Projects and Final Master's Projects defended in the 2022/2023 academic year, or that are being carried out in the 2023/2024 academic year, as well as theses in progress that wish to show preliminary results of their research. Posters under this modality will be included in a special volume of the conference proceedings, not included in the EG Digital Library unless the authors explicitly express otherwise.
** Papers already published: they will present papers already published in proceedings of other conferences or in magazines, which are within the topics of interest of the conference. The abstract will make explicit reference to the original paper from which the poster comes. Its objective is to give greater dissemination and visibility to these papers within the framework of Computer Graphics in Spain. They will not be included in the proceedings, but they will have a special session for presentation to those attending the conference.
“BEST THESIS PRIZE” MODALITY

Intending to recognize the work carried out by the youngest researchers, we award the prize to the best thesis related to the field of the conference defended during the year 2023 (calendar year). To apply, you will need to send: a one-page summary of the thesis, the three most relevant publications that are a direct result of the thesis itself, a PDF of the thesis (preferably a link to an Open Access repository), and the author's CV. to. The author himself or any of his/her advisors may present the candidacy. The details of how to present this candidacy will be published on the conference website.
“TFG/TFM” MODALITY

Final Undergraduate Projects (TFG or TFM) related to the scope of the conference that have been defended in 2023 (calendar year) may be submitted. The work report and a summary or abstract of one or two pages will be sent, plus a representative image of the work. Those selected will be published in a special section on the conference website. The best TFG may be presented as a Short Paper and the best TFM as a presentation if the authors so wish. The details of the TFG/TM submission method will be published on the conference website.

Call for Eurovis Education Papers
We seek original contributions for presentation and publication in the inaugural Eurovis 2024 Education Papers track. The scope includes various topics related to education:
1. Teaching related areas such as Information Visualization, Scientific Visualization, Visual Analytics,

Designing and teaching online and hybrid courses: novel teaching methods, curriculum design, teaching to diverse audiences, tools and platforms for teaching, assessment techniques for evaluating learning outcomes,

Enabling and exploiting visualization tools and techniques to teach in other disciplines.
4.
Classroom challenges in visualization, e.g. innovative and effective assessment, engaging student interest, managing diverse student backgrounds, teaching mathematical foundations,

Incorporating modern technology in visualization courses (e.g. VR, AR, 3D printing, gaming, etc),
6.
Bringing visualization research into the classroom,
7.
Promoting undergraduate research in visualization,
8.
Visualization Literacy - models and frameworks for evaluating data visualization literacy, strategies to enhance data visualization literacy in the classroom or with general audiences, case studies of data visualization literacy initiatives.
We invite authors to submit their contributions that fall into one of the following categories:

Regular papers [max. 8 pages]
describing the experience of educators in the topics listed above, bringing ideas on how to make the education process more efficient and funnier, attracting students to further research work, discussing innovative opportunities, etc. Whenever possible, we encourage authors to provide evidence of their effectiveness.

Innovative assignments [max. 4 pages]
explaining real assignments, providing examples of handouts and starter code and examples of student work. Explanations and descriptions of when and how to implement and facilitate the assignments in a semester (e.g., orchestration details) are highly recommended. Providing a description of the assessment method is also suggested. Authors may provide all relevant artifacts as supplementary materials during submission, and agree to provide access to them online upon acceptance.

Outstanding student projects (individual or group) [max. 2 pages]
should describe the learning context for the project and show how the student(s) brought creativity to their work. Upon acceptance, authors are expected to demonstrate the project during their presentation.

Call for Short Papers
Authors are invited to submit short papers [4 pages max] that present self-contained, complete, compact works on all areas related to computer graphics, such as rendering, modeling, visualization, animation, simulation, virtual reality, computer vision, computer-aided design, digital fabrication, imaging and computational photography. We particularly invite submissions which present tangible and practically useful improvements to the state of the art, but which are not thematically wide enough to justify an entire full paper. What we would like to see as short papers are individual smart ideas and intriguing findings that might otherwise remain unpublished, due to them standing in isolation – as opposed to falling within the context of some larger scientific endeavour, where they can be easily mentioned in the corresponding publication.
Accepted short papers will be published in the Short Papers digital media proceedings and in the Eurographics Digital Library. Authors of accepted papers will be expected to present their work as an oral presentation at the conference.

Submission details
Submissions will be made electronically through the Eurographics <https://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference/EG_2024S> Submission and Review Management (SRM) system. Submitted papers must be anonymous, up to 4 pages in length, and formatted according to the Eurographics Author’s guidelines (short papers LaTeX style package available from the <https://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference/EG_2022/Instruction> SRM system).
Authors of accepted papers will present a super short summary or a teaser during a fast-forward session. This presentation will be around 25 seconds (exact length to be decided) and shall be augmented by slides. To ensure a smooth organization, they will be asked to prepare a short video of the slides for this purpose, in two versions: one with the spoken text and one without. These FF presentations will be available on the web throughout the conference. Details will be sent to accepted paper authors.
Plagiarism
A submission to the Eurographics Short Papers program should describe an original work of the authors. Authors must not use ideas or content originating from others without properly crediting their original sources. Note that such sources are not limited to peer-reviewed publications but also include patents, textbooks, technical reports, theses, unpublished work posted on arXiv, and other posts on the World Wide Web. Failure to comply with this requirement will be considered plagiarism and result in rejection.
Prior Art
Authors are expected to cite, discuss differences and novelty, and compare results, if applicable, with respect to relevant existing publications, provided they have been published in a peer-reviewed venue.
This also applies to patents, which also undergo a professional reviewing process. But what about technical reports, and other non-peer-reviewed publications, such as technical reports or papers posted on arXiv, which we henceforth refer to as pre-publications? With the rapid progress of search engines and the increased perusal of arXiv papers by the scientific community, asking authors to thoroughly compare their work to these pre-publications imposes an unreasonable burden — a seemingly relevant report that is incomplete in its disclosure or validation might appear online shortly before the deadline. Although peer-reviewed publications are certainly not immune to these shortcomings, they have, at least, been judged sufficiently complete and valid by a group of peers. Consequently, authors are not required to discuss and compare their work with recent pre-publications (arXiv, technical reports, theses, etc.), although they must properly cite those that inspired them (see “Plagiarism” above). Nevertheless, we encourage authors to mention all related works they are aware of as good academic practice dictates. Note that with new works posted on arXiv on a daily basis, it is increasingly likely that reviewers might point out similarities between the submitted work and online reports that have been missed by the authors. In this case, authors of conditionally accepted papers should be prepared to cite these pre-publications in their final revision as concurrent work, without the burden of having to detail how their work compares to or differs from these pre-publications.

As authors, putting a submission on a repository like arXiv is allowed, either before submission or during the review cycle. There is no penalty for publishing a submission as a prepublication. However, if there are largely overlapping prepublications of the same authors that are available online at the time of submission (arXiv), earlier or largely similar versions of the submission should not be cited in the submission because this would identify the authors. This is consistent with the submission guidelines at SIGGRAPH and CVPR/ECCV/ICCV. After submission, the authors should try to preserve the anonymity of the submission. Specifically, the following list clarifies what is allowed and what not.
Allowed:
* arXiv postings before and after the submission deadline. Do not state that the submission is under review for Eurographics.
* YouTube video on personal account. Do not show submission id or anything that could relate to as a Eurographics submission. Authors can link the videos from the arXiv page or personal web page.
* Code release on personal code repositories (e.g., github). Authors can link the code repository from the arXiv or personal web page.
* It is ok to list submissions in job applications and in interviews as long as they are not referred to as Eurographics submissions.
* It is ok to present the work in non-public venues in particular job talks as long as they are not referred to as Eurographics submissions.
* It is ok to list submissions on author’s webpages as long as they are not referred to as Eurographics submissions.
* It is ok to publicize the work via authors’ social media as long as they are not referred to as Eurographics submissions.
Not allowed:
* It is not allowed to list submissions on institutional websites irrespective of the presentation form.
* No publicity via university or company PR teams regardless of whether authors or institutions are kept anonymous – this includes any postings or dissemination via institutional or promoted social media accounts.
* No media interviews regardless of mainstream media or tech-focused outlets (small-scale, non-public seminars are allowed).
* Do not post papers or supplementary material on university, company, or other private servers that may identify preprints as Eurographics submissions.

Education Papers submission deadline January 22, 2024
Call for Education Papers
The scope of the track includes topics in education concerned with computer graphics and related areas, relevant teaching/classroom experience, as well as assignments for use in these subject areas. We invite authors to submit papers, panels and outstanding student projects specifically related but not limited to the following topics:
1. Teaching Computer Graphics courses to diverse audiences.
2. Teaching related areas such as Visualisation, Animation, VR/AR/XR, 3D printing, Game Development.
3. Designing and teaching online and hybrid courses in the areas mentioned above.
4. Enabling and exploiting visual tools and techniques to teach in other disciplines.
5. Promoting undergraduate research in Computer Graphics.
We invite authors to submit their contributions that fall into one of the following categories:
* Regular papers[max. 8 pages]
describing the experience of educators in the fields listed above, bringing ideas on how to make the education process more efficient and interesting, attracting students to further research work, discussing innovative opportunities, etc. Whenever possible, we encourage authors to provide evidence of their effectiveness.
* (Catching) assignments[max. 4 pages]
explaining real assignments, providing examples of handouts and starter codes and examples of student works. Explanations and descriptions of when and how to implement and facilitate the assignments in a semester (e.g., orchestration details) are highly recommended. Providing a description of the assessment method is also suggested. Authors may provide all relevant artifacts as supplementary materials during submission, and agree to provide access to them online upon acceptance.
* Outstanding student projects(individual or group) [max. 2 pages]
should describe the learning context for the project and show how the student(s) brought creativity to their work. Upon acceptance, authors are expected to demonstrate the project during their presentation.
The best regular papers will be recommended to the editors of prestigious journals in the field, <https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/14678659> Computer Graphics Forum, <https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/computers-and-graphics> Computers and Graphics, and <https://www.computer.org/csdl/magazine/cg> IEEE Computer Graphics & Applications, who may invite the authors of these papers to submit extended versions to their journals.

* March 15, 2024: Camera-ready

Submissions will be made electronically through the <https://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference/EG_2024EDU> Eurographics Submission and Review Management (SRMv2) system and are subject to a review process.
