The EMBO Workshop on 'Visualizing Biological Data' (
<https://vizbi.org/2023> VIZBI 2023) takes place March 28–31 at EMBL in Heidelberg,
Germany. This will be the 13th international meeting on this topic. While primarily an
in-person event, there will be an online participation option.
The VIZBI 2023 speaker line-up and program are now online at

The workshop features keynotes from <https://coltekin.net/arzu/> Arzu Çöltekin
(FNHW, Switzerland), <https://vis.uib.no/team/bruckner/> Stefan Bruckner (U.
Bergen, Norway), and <https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1365407/> Martin Dohrn (Ammonite,
UK), as well as plenary talks from <https://vizbi.org/2023/People> 18 leading
researchers using visualisation to explore life science data. In addition, a pre-workshop
<https://vizbi.org/2023/Masterclass> Masterclass provides data visualization
training, and a post-workshop <https://vizbi.org/2023/Showcase> Showcase highlights
life science communication in film.
As in previous VIZBI conferences, all participants can submit a
<https://vizbi.org/2023/Posters> poster,
<https://vizbi.org/2023/Posters#Lightning> lightning talk, and
<https://vizbi.org/2023/Posters#Art> artwork for presentation during the workshop.
To help cover costs of attending, a limited number of
<https://vizbi.org/2023/Registration#waivers> registration fee waivers,
<https://vizbi.org/2023/Registration#travel> travel fellowships, and
<https://vizbi.org/2023/Registration#childcare> childcare grants are available
(application deadline Jan 15).
