The Eurographics Doctoral Consortium is a networking event that provides PhD
students, working in all areas of computer graphics, with an excellent
opportunity to present their work and interact with distinguished and
experienced researchers in the field, receiving feedback and mentoring, as
well as a different perspective from senior researchers outside their home
institution. In addition, the Doctoral Consortium provides a unique forum
for PhD students to share their work and experience among their fellow PhD
students. The Doctoral Consortium will take place within the Eurographics
2019 conference, to be held in Genova, 6-10, May 2019.
Who should apply?
PhD students working in all areas of computer graphics are encouraged to
apply. We particularly encourage applications from students who are in the
first half of their PhD work, especially those who already have a clear
research direction (possibly with some published results), as they have
sufficient time ahead to profit from their participation in the Doctoral
Consortium. Students who are close to finishing their doctorate degree, or
have very recently finished it, are also welcome, to share their experience
and to discuss their ongoing research and future research plans.
The applicants are strongly encouraged to consider submitting a poster of
their work to the poster track in parallel.

PhD positions in Advanced Visual and Geometric Computing for 3D Capture,
Display, and Fabrication (EVOCATION), a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative
Training Network. EVOCATION officially started in October 2018. These PhDs
are early-stage scientific and industrial researchers who in the future will
lead research and development of novel visual and geometric computing
methodologies in the widest variety of applications, including industrial
design and manufacturing, architecture, cultural heritage study and
valorisation, geomatics, and tele-collaboration.
We are looking for highly motivated candidates for becoming the next
generation of early-stage scientific and industrial researchers (ESRs) who
in the future will lead research and development of novel visual and
geometric computing methodologies in wide range of industries and
application domains.
We can offer you a 36-months PhD training program coordinated among eight
academic and industrial partners.
About EVOCATION
The EVOCATION network of public and private entities is naturally
multidisciplinary and multi-institutional and will: (a) advance the
state-of-the-art in geometry and material acquisition, geometry processing
and semantic feature extraction, interactive visualization, computational
fabrication, as well as high-bandwidth / 3D display systems; (b) bridge
complementary approaches for cost-effective data digitization,
visualization, fabrication, and display through the integration of different
methodologies in the 3D capture, processing and fabrication pipeline; (c)
promote, through domain-specific challenges, multidisciplinary research
applied to concrete problems of the real world, in strict cooperation with
end users in engineering, science and humanities; (d) demonstrate the
feasibility and efficiency of scalable cost-effective end-to-end techniques
to virtually and physically capture and create objects with complex shape
and appearance; (e) increase awareness of the benefits of advanced visual

Dear colleagues,
we would like to invite you and your students to the 23st Central European Seminar on Computer Graphics (CESCG) which is a unique conference-like event for Bachelor's and Master's students of visual computing.
For two months, an experienced international team guides them through their first academic publishing process. The event includes an interactive EXPO with exciting industrial workshops where ~20 companies and research institutions showcase the state of the art in our field.
Location: Smolenice castle, Slovakia
Date: April 28 - 30, 2019
Deadlines: January 28 (abstracts)
February 10 (full papers)
March 27 (posters)
Web: https://cescg.org

The seminar is an annual event dedicated to Bachelor's and Master's students. It develops their talent, promotes and supports their research activities. The three days program is balanced between:
- presentations of student work
- practical visual computing workshops
- interactive training of academic soft skills.
If you have a student who could participate, please contact us via cescg(a)cg.tuwien.ac.at.
Submission process for full papers:
- Student(s) and their supervisor submit a scientific paper (max. 8 pages long).
- There is no need for significant novelty or a strong contribution, this is just a student seminar. However, a clear structure following the rules of scientific methodology is important.
- An international committee reviews the papers.
- All technically sound submissions are accepted. Instead of letting the students compete for a limited number of slots we guide and support all of them to achieve the highest quality possible.
- Each participating university or institution has to deliver up to 3*#own_submissions reviews with very detailed and friendly feedback.
- Students also cross-review one paper each.
Submission process for posters/work in progress (with talk):
- Student(s) submit a one page extended abstract.
- An international committee reviews the papers.
- Non-competitive just as full papers.
More information follows at https://cescg.org/seminar/#howtoparticipate
Topics:
- Computer Graphics
