VMV is Germany’s premier scientific venue for research in Visual Computing. Although different in terminology and formalism, Vision, Modeling, and Visualization are symbiotic disciplines that profit from synergies between jointly encountered problems and developed technologies. VMV offers researchers the opportunity to discuss a wide range of different topics within an open, international, and interdisciplinary environment.
Paper submissions are solicited from any area of computer graphics, computer vision, visualization and related fields. As in previous years, the proceedings will be published in cooperation with Eurographics and archived in the EG Digital Library.
Authors are encouraged to submit their original research results, practice and experience reports, or novel applications. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
Modelling
• 3D Printing
• Animation, Simulation, and GPGPU
• Geometric Modeling
Rendering
• Color, Illumination, and Reflectance Modeling
• Material Appearance
• Realistic and Non-Photorealistic Rendering
• Offline and Real-time Rendering
Visualization and Interactive Interfaces
• Information Visualization
• Scientific Visualization
• Visual Analytics and Interactive Data Science
• Visual Interfaces
Computer Vision and Image Processing
• 3D Acquisition, Motion Capture, and Tracking
• Computational Photography, Sensors, and Sensor Fusion
• Image-based Modeling and Rendering
• Object and Pattern Recognition
Applications of/for Visual Computing
• Biology and Medicine
• Games and Film
• Evaluation and Perception
• Physics and Engineering
• Virtual, Mixed, and Augmented Reality
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PAPER:
Contributors are invited to submit papers of up to 8 pages length in the EG publication style. The review process will be double-blind. Accepted papers have to be presented at the symposium. Publication style file and further details can be found on the conference website: http://vmv2023.cg.cs.tu-bs.de/submission-instructions/
NEW: SPECIAL SESSION “LEGENDARY VMV PAPERS”
At VMV 2023, a special session is planned to honor previous VMV papers that have passed the test of time. If you are (co-)author of a paper presented at a previous VMV symposium that you think has made an impact on our community, please nominate it by writing to vmv2023(a)cg.cs.tu-bs.de, sending in a link to the paper and a brief statement in which way(s) your paper has impacted our community.
A jury will select the most impressive VMV papers from all nominations. Nominators of selected papers will be invited to present their original papers again and to show how it has influenced subsequent research in our field.

Call for Posters
Authors are invited to submit proposals for poster presentations of recent
results, work in progress, new ideas, and other smaller projects which may
be of interest to the general community, but which are still too
speculative, incomplete or not of sufficient extent to warrant a (full or
short) paper. We encourage submissions from all areas related to computer
graphics, such as forward and inverse rendering, differentiable rendering,
modeling, visualization, perception, animation, simulation, virtual reality,
computer vision, and imaging. Submissions from computer vision and machine
learning areas are also invited to the Posters track.
One or more authors of accepted posters are expected to be present at the
conference, to discuss their work and answer questions during the poster
session. We are expecting an in-person conference attendance. Accepted
posters and the final papers will be included in the digital media with the
proceedings and other material.
Timeline
* Mar. 10, 2023 Submission deadline
