The workshop is intended to provide an opportunity for these researchers to share lessons learned, present new results, and discuss open issues. The workshop also includes two invited presentations. In the first of these, Eric Saund of the Palo Alto Research Center presents one possible view of a "killer application" for pen-based interfaces - games. In the second, Marc Alexa from the Technical University of Berlin presents exciting new work in sketch-based 3D surface design.
