We are pleased to announce the opportunity to join an exciting
interdisciplinary team of computing and humanities researchers with
world-leading expertise in developing and embedding digital tools and
interdisciplinary methods across the arts and humanities.
This appointment is for a fixed term until 18/02/2024 initially, where you
will be will joining the AHRC-funded project A Roadmap for a National
Training Centre on Multidimensional Digital Media in the Arts and Humanities
(Feb 2023-January 2024). This project aims to develop a roadmap for
establishing a National Training Centre for upskilling the Arts and
Humanities community in data management of multidimensional data, including
2D images, 3D models and 4D datasets generated through digitisation and
creative processes.
You will contribute to the project outcomes, including designing and testing
approaches for training advanced digital skills in the arts and humanities
(e.g. summer school, industrial placements, data+art residencies), as well
as supporting the development of an online platform to support the training.
The research will contribute towards developing an open hybrid training
framework for the community, as well as developing a roadmap for a Regional
Training Centre in Multidimensional (2D/3D) Digital Data Literacy. In order
to be successful in this post you should have:
* A good (1 or 2:1) degree BSc/MSc in Computer, Engineering, Digital
Heritage or related technical subjects.
* Specialist knowledge in the creation, processing, management,
use/reuse of multi-dimensional (2D/3D) data for the arts and humanities
* Good knowledge of programming in various web-oriented languages and
frameworks for providing access to 2D/3D data
* Experience in writing reports and research papers, and communicating
research via various methods
