*PhD and PostDoc positions at USI, Lugano, Switzerland* I am currently looking for *2 PhD students* and *1 PostDoc* for a research project on "Barycentric Interpolation", funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF). In this project, we will investigate novel ideas in the context of barycentric rational interpolation and generalized barycentric coordinates, explore the related applications in computer graphics, geometry processing, and computer-aided geometric design (CAGD), and answer open questions regarding the numerical stability of barycentric interpolation schemes. At the Faculty of Informatics at USI, we offer a world-class, highly collaborative international research environment with competitive salaries. Applicants for the PhD positions should have a 4-5 year Bachelor degree or a Master degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related fields. The positions are for 4 years and can be extended to a 5th year. Applicants for the PostDoc position should have completed or be about to complete their PhD studies and a strong background in geometry processing, numerical analysis, CAGD, or related fields. The position is for an initial period of 12 months and can be extended up to 4 years. The positions are open from Feb 1, 2020.
