might be vulnerable from natural and man-made threats such as climate
change, economic hardship, violence and neglect. As such, the event will
enable participants to showcase and discuss new technologies and workflows
available to heritage professionals to document, monitor, study,
conserve/preserve and provide access to both tangible and intangible

Dear Colleagues,
You are kindly invited to contribute to the EuroVis Workshop on Trustworthy
Visualization (TrustVis). TrustVis, formerly known as EuroRVVV, will be held
as a co-located event with EuroVis 2019 on June 3rd in Porto, Portugal.
/// EuroVis Workshop on Trustworthy Visualization
/// <http://www.eurovis.org/> http://www.eurorvvv.org/
TrustVis is a continuation of the EuroRVVV workshop, which was held six
times in conjunction with EuroVis and IEEE VIS. TrustVis includes the topics
covered by EuroRVVV Reproducibility, Verification, and Validation in
visualization and also widens the scope.
We use the term trust in a broad sense. As a user, trust in a
visualization might mean that:
* It shows the numbers I know from my spreadsheets (a common use case in
industry)
* I understand how it is showing the data and I know how to interpret it
(HCI, perception, etc.)
* It shows results that I can verify or validate by some means
(verification, validation)
* It employs methods that are based on sound research (reproducibility of
research)
* If I get sued for a decision I make based on this, I will be able to use
it as evidence that I did nothing wrong (reproducibility of decisions)
* It shows me the limits of what my data and/or models can provide
(uncertainty)
Topics we are looking for in the TrustVis workshop include, but are not
limited to:
* Verification and validation in visualization
* Reproducibility of visualization methods and decision making
* Ways to improve trust in visualization
* Uncertainty visualization
* Ways to attack visualization (adversarial visualization)
We welcome short paper contributions, which will be peer-reviewed in a
one-stage process by an international program committee. They will be
electronically archived in the Eurographics Digital Library and are fully
citable publications. Submissions for the TrustVis track should be no longer
than 4 pages for the main content, plus one page for references. All
accepted papers will be presented at the workshop.
Besides regular short papers, we also welcome short position papers, where
authors have an opportunity to state opinions, present controversial
arguments, show on-going work, or share thoughts for future directions.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
SHREC2019 - 3D Shape Retrieval Challenge 2019
At Eurographics 2019 Workshop on 3D Object Retrieval
<http://3dor2019.ge.imati.cnr.it/>
Contact: shrec(a)cs.uu.nl <mailto:shrec@cs.uu.nl>
Introduction
---------------
The general objective of the 3D Shape Retrieval Challenge is to evaluate the
effectiveness of 3D-shape retrieval algorithms. SHREC'19 is the fourteenth
edition of the challenge. Like previous years, it is organized in
conjunction with the Eurographics 2018 Workshop on 3D Object Retrieval,
where the results will be reviewed by the chairs of the workshop and
included in the workshop proceedings.
Thanks to the efforts of previous track organizers, SHREC already provides
many resources to compare and evaluate 3D retrieval methods. For this year's
challenge, we aim to explore new and updated tracks. Therefore, the
participants are invited to have an active role in the organization of the
event. This includes proposing track themes, building or acquiring a test
collection, and deciding upon the queries, relevance assessment, and
performance measures.
The participants of each track will collectively write a paper, which will
be published in the proceedings of the Eurographics Workshop 3D Object
Retrieval. At least one author per track must register for the workshop, and
present the results. We also cordially invite all participants of a track to
register and attend the workshop.

ACM/EG Expressive 2019 Call for Submissions

http://expressive.graphics/2019/submissions/
Paper deadline: February 21, 2019 March 3, 2019
Acceptance by: March 21, 2019
Camera-ready: April 5, 2019
Symposium: May 5-6, 2019
Artworks/posters/demos by: Rolling notification, closes March 15, 2019
The Expressive symposium explores the capacity of computer graphics,
animation, and computational media to be used in artistic, aesthetic, and
creative ways. The field can be seen as encompassing problems in expressive
understanding, expressive communication, and expressive interaction:
* Expressive understanding integrates aspects of computer science,
philosophy, psychology, and the fine, applied, and performing arts,
investigating theoretical approaches that further our understanding of
aesthetic evaluation, perception and meaning.
* Expressive communication focuses on imagery and motion which is
expressive rather than photorealistic, although it may incorporate realistic
elements.
* Expressive interaction explores models, algorithms, and technologies
for sketch-based interfaces, particularly classifying and recognizing
hand-drawn shapes as a way to create or edit digital models, text,
mathematics, or 3D shapes.
<http://expressive.graphics/2019> Expressive 2019 will take place in
Genova, Italy, May 5-6, 2019 co-located with
<https://www.eurographics2019.it/> Eurographics 2019 in Genova.
Expressive technical papers will be submitted, evaluated, and presented in a
single, unified track. This unification reflects the ongoing evolution of
the symposium, which originated as the union of three separate events:
Computational Aesthetics (CAe), Non-Photorealistic Animation and Rendering
(NPAR), and Sketch-Based Interfaces and Modelling (SBIM). The symposium will
also include an arts program, posters and demos, and presentations of
published journal articles.

/We apologize for multiple messages/
This is to invite you to participate in the following tracks of SHREC'19:
SHREC'19 track Matching Humans with Different Connectivity
SHREC'19 track: why connectivity?
Although recent publications in the field of shape analysis achieve
high-quality results in point-to-point matching, their quantitative
evaluations have been performed only on meshes that share the connectivity.
The aim of this track is to evaluate the performance of the automatic
algorithms or signatures for point-to-point matching when the shapes to be
matched have different connectivity. We consider the concurrent presence of
1) different meshing, 2) rigid transformation in 3D space, 3) non-rigid
deformations, 4) different vertex density, ranging from 5K to more than 50K,
and 5) topological changes induced by mesh glueing in areas of contact. The
correspondence between these shapes is obtained through the recently
proposed registration pipeline FARM (FARM: Functional automatic registration
method for 3D human bodies, Marin et al, arxiv 2018).
