The Eurographics Symposium on Geometry Processing (SGP) is the premier venue
for disseminating new research ideas and cutting-edge results in geometry
processing. In this research area, concepts from mathematics, computer
science, and engineering are studied and applied to offer new insights and
design efficient algorithms for acquisition, modeling, analysis,
manipulation, simulation and transmission of complex 3D models.
In 2013, SGP will be held in Genova, Italy, from July 3 to 5. To continue a
nice new tradition created in the past a few years, SGP will offer a
graduate school on July 1-2 specifically targeted towards graduate students.
The school will be taught by leading experts in the field and complemented
by hands-on practical exercises to obtain an in-depth knowledge of some of
the most important aspects of geometry processing.
We invite submissions related to, but not limited to, the following topics:
§ Acquisition, reconstruction, and reverse engineering
§ Compression of static or animated geometry
§ Discrete differential geometry
§ Geometric aspects of rendering and other fields
§ Geometric modeling, design, and fabrication
§ Geometry and topology representations
§ Geometry processing applications (e.g. architecture, medicine, 3D
printing)
§ Interactive techniques
§ Meshing and remeshing
§ Multiresolution modeling and analysis
§ Robust geometric computing
§ Shape analysis and synthesis
§ Simplification, approximation, level of detail
§ Simulation and animation
§ Smoothing and denoising
§ Surface and volume parameterization
Proceedings
The SGP proceedings will appear as a regular electronic issue of Computer
Graphics Forum, the International Journal of the EUROGRAPHICS Association.
The journal status of the proceedings requires a two-stage review process
with conditional acceptance after the first round and final acceptance based
on the revised submissions.
Posters
A poster session will provide an additional informative look into ongoing
research. Submissions with high potential but which have not been accepted
as papers will be invited to be presented in a poster session during the
symposium.
Software Award
To encourage the distribution of useful, high quality software in geometry
processing, since 2011 an award is given for freely available software
related to or useful for geometry processing. Please send nominations and

The importance of parallel computing is again increasing rapidly with the
ubiquitous availability of multi-core CPUs, GPUs as well as cluster systems.
Computationally demanding disciplines such as realistic 3D computer graphics
and high-performance scientific visualization are strongly affected by this
trend and require novel efficient parallel graphics and visualization

parallelism in graphics or visualization such as multi-core computing, GPU
rendering/computing, distributed systems, clusters or grid environments.
The aim of this symposium is to strongly encourage the exchange of
experiences and knowledge in novel solutions exploiting and defining new
trends in parallel graphics and visualization techniques, including parallel
hardware architecture, software tools, and applications.
The proceedings of the Symposium will be published in the Eurographics
Proceedings Series and on the Eurographics Digital Library. Note that the
best papers from the EGPGV Symposium will be invited to submit extended
journal versions to IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer
Graphics.

3D Object Retrieval Workshop Series
--------------------------------------------
3D object representations have become an integral part of modern computer
graphics applications, such as computer-aided design, game development and
film production. At the same time, 3D data have become very common in
various domains such as computer vision, computational geometry, molecular
biology and medicine.
The rapid evolution in graphics hardware and software, in particular the
availability of low cost 3D scanners and modeling tools, has greatly
facilitated 3D model acquisition, creation, and manipulation, giving the
opportunity to a large user community to experience applications using 3D
models. As the number of 3D models is growing rapidly, the problem of
creating new 3D models has shifted to the problem of searching for existing
3D models. Thereupon, the development of efficient search mechanisms is
required for the effective retrieval of 3D objects from large repositories.
The aim of the 3DOR Workshop series is to stimulate researchers from
different fields such as Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Machine
Learning and Human-Computer Interaction who work on the common goal of 3D
object retrieval, to present state-of-the-art work in the field. This
provides a cross-fertilization ground that stimulates discussions on the
next steps in this important research area.
The 6th Eurographics Workshop on 3D Object Retrieval (3DOR 2013) is a
co-event of the 34th Annual Conference of the European Association for
Computer Graphics (Eurographics 2013). The workshop will take place on May
11, 2013 in Girona, Spain.
Call for Papers, Posters and System Demonstrations
--------------------------------------------
Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished research papers
addressing all areas of 3D Object Retrieval. Submissions are invited in the
form of full papers (up to 8 pages) and short papers presented in a poster
session (up to 4 pages). Paper submissions need to be done by the SRM site
of Eurographics https://srm.eg.org/SRM_3DOR2013/ (see also the workshop
website for details). Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

Computer Graphics International (CGI) is one of the oldest and most
established international conferences in the world where researchers and
professional practitioners are gathered annually to celebrate and share
their novel achievements in computer graphics. CGI is the official
conference of the Computer Graphics Society (CGS). CGI and CGS were started
in Tokyo by Professor T.L. Kunii from the University of Tokyo in 1983. Over
the past decades, the CGI conference has been a key venue for the computer
graphics community. The upcoming CGI celebrates its 30th anniversary under
the Auspices of the President of Lower Saxony.
You are hereby invited to submit your contribution to CGI2013, which will be
organized by the Computer Graphics Society and hosted by the Division of
Computer Graphics (Welfenlab) at the Institute for Man-Machine
Communication, Leibniz University Hannover, Germany on 12-14 June 2013.
Workshop sessions on shape processing and medical multi-scale research will
be held on the 11th of June and the main conference on 12-14 June.
Publication information
All accepted submissions will be published as full-length (10 pages max.)
papers. The 30 best accepted papers will be published in the Visual Computer
