It will be organized by the University of Linköping and will take place at the Louis de Geer Conference Centre, close by the University's Norrköping Campus. Eurographics 2010 will provide a unique platform for the computer graphics community to showcase the latest techniques and educational work, and to explore new trends and ideas, and it will also offer the opportunity to demonstrate products and services to this community. Authors are invited to submit proposals for poster presentations of recent results, work in progress, new ideas and other smaller projects which may be of interest to the general community but which are still too speculative, too incomplete or not of sufficient extent to warrant a full paper. Accepted posters will be published in a Posters Proceedings of the conference and will be included in the digital media. Posters will also be displayed during the conference and will form the focus of a posters session to be run in conjunction with the conference welcome event on the evening of Tuesday 4th May. We encourage submissions from all areas related to computer graphics, such as rendering, modeling, visualization, animation, simulation, virtual reality, computer vision, and imaging. Submitted posters should be in the form of a 2 page paper which must be formatted according to the Eurographics author's guidelines and may be accompanied by a preliminary version of the actual poster if the authors wish it. Anonymous submissions will be made electronically through the Eurographics Submission and Review Management (SRM) system. Poster submissions will be subject to review and acceptance will be notified in time for submission of a final version for inclusion of both the 2 page paper and an A4 version of the final poster to be included in the poster proceedings and on the conference digital media. CALL FOR PARTICIPATION SHREC'10 - 3D Shape Retrieval Contest 2010, http://www.aimatshape.net/event/SHREC/ at EUROGRAPHICS 2010 - Workshop on 3D Object Retrieval *Introduction* The general objective of the 3D Shape Retrieval Contest is to evaluate the effectiveness of 3D-shape retrieval algorithms. SHREC'10 is the fourth edition of the contest. Like last year, it is organized in conjunction with the Eurographics Workshop on 3D Object Retrieval, where the evaluation results will be presented and printed in the corresponding workshop proceedings published by the Eurographics Book Series. Thanks to the effort of previous track organizers, SHREC already provides many resources to compare and evaluate 3D retrieval methods. For this year's contest, we aim at new and updated tracks. Therefore, the participants are requested to have an active role in the organization of the event. This includes proposing track themes, building or acquiring a test collection, and deciding upon the queries, relevance assessment, and performance measures. The participants of each track will collectively write a paper, which will be published in the proceedings of the Eurographics Workshop 3D Object Retrieval. Computationally demanding disciplines such as realistic 3D computer graphics and high-performance scientific visualization are strongly affected by this trend and require novel efficient parallel graphics and visualization solutions. Building on the success of previous EGPGV symposia, we happily announce the 10th Eurographics Symposium on Parallel Graphics and Visualization. EGPGV is the premier international event focusing on parallel graphics and visualization technology, where novel solutions exploiting and defining new trends in parallel hardware and software architectures are presented. The aim of the symposium is to strongly encourage exchange of experiences and knowledge in parallel and distributed visual computing and its application to all aspects of computer graphics and data visualization. All papers, research or case-studies, should have a direct relation to some aspect of parallelism in graphics or visualization such as multi-core computing, multi-pipe GPU rendering/computing, distributed systems, clusters or grid environments. Computational Aesthetics 2010: Call for Posters

Computational Aesthetics 2010 Call for Posters Computational Aesthetics bridges the analytic and synthetic by integrating aspects of computer science, philosophy, psychology, and the fine, applied & performing arts. It seeks to facilitate both the analysis and the augmentation of creative behaviours. CAe also investigates the creation of tools that can enhance the expressive power of the fine and applied arts and furthers our understanding of aesthetic evaluation, perception and meaning. The conference brings together individuals with technical experience of developing computer based tools to solve aesthetic problems and people with artistic/design backgrounds who use these new tools. Invited talks will be given by technical, theoretical and artistic/design figures. The talks will help participants better understand what aesthetics is, what computer technology is currently capable of and, equally, to fully appreciate what is involved in artistic design and creative process. Poster submissions are an opportunity to present and discuss work in progress without publication. Technical, artistic and posters that mix the two are all welcome. Suggested topics cover similar ground to the technical papers, but are not limited to it. Examples include a.. computational analysis and modelling of creative behaviour (AI, A-life); b.. artistic image transformation techniques (colours, edges, patterns, dithering); c.. image style and salience analysis (paintings, photographs, others); d.. visualization (perceptual or aesthetics based); e.. sketching, simplification techniques (artistic, cognitive); f.. composition, visual balance, layout; g.. non-photorealistic rendering; h.. empirically based metrics of aesthetical attributes; and i.. applied visual perception (colour appearance, spatial vision, and other aspects). j.. measuring and describing aesthetics and k.. computational tools for artists Submission Posters will be of up to size A0. Poster authors should submit an extended abstract or a description to accompany their work; no more than 2 sides of A4 in length. The style files for standard papers should be used. Accepted abstracts (descriptions) will be included as part of the electronic conference proceedings, but will not be included in in the paper proceedings so will not be formally published. Extension to Afrigraph 2010 submisison deadline

Call for Participation: AFRIGRAPH 2010 The 7th International Conference on Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality, Visualisation and Interaction in Africa Sponsored by ACM SIGGRAPH and in cooperation with EUROGRAPHICS. 21-23 June 2010 Franschoek, South Africa. Keynote speaker: Marc Alexa AFRIGRAPH 2010 (AG2010) is the 7th International Conference on Virtual Reality, Computer Graphics, Visualization and Interaction in Africa. AG2010 is organized by the African Graphics Association (AFRIGRAPH) and is sponsored by ACM SIGGRAPH and in cooperation with EUROGRAPHICS. The conference will be held on a wine estate near Franschoek, a picturesque town in the Cape Winelands region of South Africa. The keynote will be given by Marc Alexa. Marc is a Professor in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Technical University of Berlin and heads the Computer Graphics group. He is widely published in the areas of shape representation and deformation, using point sampled geometry, implicit surfaces, explicit representations, and linear spaces of base shapes, as well as sketching interfaces. Academic Papers AG2010 welcomes contributions in the form of full papers or short papers. The conference particularly welcomes contributions that focus on Computer Graphics in the developing world; addressing the use of Computer Graphics in urban renewal, rural development, health, education, environment and the African arts and media. Computational Aesthetics 2010 Call for papers Computational Aesthetics bridges the analytic and synthetic by integrating aspects of computer science, philosophy, psychology, and the fine, applied & performing arts. It seeks to facilitate both the analysis and the augmentation of creative behaviours. CAe also investigates the creation of tools that can enhance the expressive power of the fine and applied arts and furthers our understanding of aesthetic evaluation, perception and meaning. The conference brings together individuals with technical experience of developing computer based tools to solve aesthetic problems and people with artistic/design backgrounds who use these new tools. Invited talks will be given by technical, theoretical and artistic/design figures. The talks will help participants better understand what aesthetics is, what computer technology is currently capable of and, equally, to fully appreciate what is involved in artistic design and creative process. Refereed papers and artworks will be presented in a single track program that aims to facilitate a dialogue between scientists and engineers who are creating new tools, and also artists and designers who use them. Presentations will provide a snapshot of the latest technical breakthroughs and the most recent artistic or design achievements in applying computer based techniques to solve aesthetic problems. Technical submissions are invited across the broad range of areas covered by Computational Aesthetics. Specific technical areas include, but are not limited to: a.. computational analysis and modelling of creative behaviour (AI, A-life); b.. artistic image transformation techniques (colours, edges, patterns, dithering); c.. image style and salience analysis (paintings, photographs, others); d.. visualization (perceptual or aesthetics based); e.. sketching, simplification techniques (artistic, cognitive); f.. composition, visual balance, layout; g.. non-photorealistic rendering; h.. empirically based metrics of aesthetical attributes; and i.. applied visual perception (colour appearance, spatial vision, and other aspects). j.. measuring and describing aesthetics and k.. computational tools for artists Technical Paper Submissions Technical papers should present original, unpublished work. Eurographics 2010 Area Papers: Submission deadline has been extended by 7 days

Eurographics 2010 Area Papers In 2010, Eurographics will have a special focus on Mobile Visual Computing and Dome Displays (http://www.eurographics2010.se/calls/area_papers/) which will have paper sessions and other events within the conference devoted to them. With Mobile Visual Computing we understand any aspects of computing images for display on handheld devices, including software or hardware techniques from graphics, vision and image processing, user interfaces and interaction. Domed displays, with real-time computing, are becoming a much more widely used approach to immersive computer graphics. The number of such sites is increasingly rapidly and the technology and applications must advance to meet the new challenges and opportunities which these systems provide. A new domed display environment will be commissioned in Norrköping immediately prior to the Eurographics conference, just minutes away from the conference centre. It is intended that the dome will be used to host the dome areas events and papers, and will provide an excellent environment for authors and exhibitors to demonstrate new ideas for domed environments. 10th International Symposium on SMART GRAPHICS http://www.smartgraphics.org/ June 24-26, 2010 Banff, Canada Submission deadline February 14, 2010 Graphics become Smart Graphics when their design and implementation are grounded in an understanding of human abilities, activities, and motivations from design experience and the broad spectrum of cognitive and social sciences. When knowledge from these diverse fields is combined with new methods, tools and techniques in AI, HCI, artistic practice and computer graphics, environments are created that: (1) engage the user and are aesthetically satisfying; (2) participate in human cognition as external or distributed representations; (3) are sensitive to the real-time demands of the interaction in the context of the available informational and computational resources; (4) adapt the form of the output according to a wider set of constraints such as an individual's perceptual, attentive, and motor abilities and the nature of the presentation media and available interaction devices. The International Symposium on Smart Graphics aims at gathering people from the fields of Cognitive Science, Computer Graphics, Artificial Intelligence, Interactive Art and Graphics Design to share experiences and experiments in this new and emerging area of study. *** Come and Join the Smart Graphics Experience *** Smart Graphics 2010 welcomes submissions from researchers and practitioners, as well as artists and graphic designers interested in an interdisciplinary approach to the design of smart interactive displays. In 2010, we propose a specific emphasis on the integration of scientific research and digital media technology into the design of aesthetic experience and artistic practice. In particular, we encourage discussion of research that locates the site of an interactive experience within the everyday world, using smart graphics, technologies, and responsive media to enrich and augment the public, private and personal spaces in which we live our lives. Submission categories are divided into: * Full research papers: these will encompass comprehensive descriptions of original work within the scope of the symposium (limited to 12 pages in Springer LNCS format). * Posters: tentative or preliminary results of research or design work with emphasis on the interdisciplinary evaluation of the ideas (limited to 4 pages in Springer LNCS format). Poster papers will be included in the proceedings. * System demonstrations: short descriptions of research or design work that the authors intend to show and discuss in a demo session at the symposium (limited to 2 pages in Springer LNCS format). System demonstration papers will be included in the proceedings. * Arts track: computer animations, multimedia performance, interactive art, digital music, hybrid art, etc. Artists must submit a two to three page proposal outlining the concept and technique of the artwork, including a discussion of the relationship between smart technologies and their artistic and creative practice. An international jury of renowned scientists and artists will select the submissions that best represent the idea of <<Smart Graphics Arts>>. Selected works will be displayed during the Smart Graphics symposium, and presented to the public via an evening of performance, installation, and gallery exhibition. A report of the arts track including all the selected works will be included in the proceedings. Smart Graphics specially encourages young researchers to submit their ideas and results.
