The Department of Computer and Information Science is seeking a highly-qualified applicant for a Postdoctoral Researcher The position is available starting in January 2015 for a duration of up to 2 years. In principle, this position can be divided into two half-time positions. DIRK BARTZ PRIZE FOR VISUAL COMPUTING IN MEDICINE 2015 (EUROGRAPHICS MEDICAL PRIZE) Submission Deadline: 09 January 2015 Notification: 20 February 2015 The Eurographics Association organizes a biannual competition to acknowledge the contribution that computer graphics is playing in the medical field, and to encourage further development. Originally called "Eurographics Medical Prize" the competition was renamed to "Dirk Bartz Prize for Visual Computing in Medicine" in 2010 -- in honor of Dirk Bartz who passed away far too early in March 2010. Dirk Bartz was a highly recognized and enthusiastic scientist, teacher and promoter of Visual Computing in Medicine; furthermore, he was an active member of the Eurographics Association and Chair of the EG Medical Prize 2007 and 2009. CALL Submissions for the Dirk Bartz Prize for Visual Computing in Medicine 2015 are being invited from researchers and developers who can demonstrate that a particular benefit has resulted from the use of computer graphics technology in a medical application that they have produced. Examples of entries could include the use of new data visualization techniques, interaction methods, or virtual/augmented environments. Max Planck Institute for Informatics The Max Planck Institute for Informatics, as the coordinator of the Max Planck Center for Visual Computing and Communication (MPC-VCC), invites applications for Junior Research Group Leaders in the Max Planck Center for Visual Computing and Communication The Max Planck Center for Visual Computing and Communications offers young scientists in information technology the opportunity to develop their own research program addressing important problems in areas such as · image communication · computer graphics · geometric computing · imaging systems · computer vision · human machine interface · distributed multimedia architectures · multimedia networking · visual media security. The center includes an outstanding group of faculty members at Stanfords Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Departments, the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, and Saarland University. The program begins with a preparatory 1-2 year postdoc phase (Phase P) at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, followed by a two-year appointment at Stanford University (Phase I) as a visiting assistant professor, and then a position at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics as a junior research group leader (Phase II). However, the program can be entered flexibly at each phase, commensurate with the experience of the applicant. Applicants to the program must have completed an outstanding PhD. Exact duration of the preparatory postdoc phase is flexible, but we typically expect this to be about 1-2 years. Applicants who completed their PhD in Germany may enter Phase I of the program directly. Applicants for Phase II are expected to have completed a postdoc stay abroad and must have demonstrated their outstanding research potential and ability to successfully lead a research group. Reviewing of applications will commence on 01 Jan 2015. The final deadline is 31 Jan 2015. ICAT-EGVE Call for Posters

Call for ICAT-EGVE 2014 Posters =========================== ICAT-EGVE 2014 will be 24th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence (ICAT 2014) and the 19th Eurographics Symposium on Virtual Environments (EGVE 2014) in Bremen, Germany. We invite the submission of poster presentations describing novel research ideas, work in progress, recently completed work, preliminary results, or unusual systems and applications. Posters will be selected by the poster chairs for presentation at the conference. Upon acceptance, the camera ready version of the submission will be included in the electronic proceedings and will receive with an ISBN identification, provided that potential comments from the reviewers are appropriately addressed. Accepted posters will require that at least one author attends the conference to present the poster in an open area and fast-forward presentation session that will take place during the conference and will give a chance for the authors to orally present a very brief summary of their work to all conference attendees. Authors will be required to bring an A0 portrait poster and to prepare one slide for presentation at the conference. . Submission Deadline: October 1, 2014 . EUROGRAPHICS 2015 Call for Full Papers

The Eurographics 2015 Technical Papers programme will showcase innovative research in Computer Graphics and related areas. We invite submissions of new ideas, and encourage all forms of research creativity and originality. We are interested in practice, experience, novel applications, technological or theoretical papers, with the ambition of setting the standard in the field and stimulating future trends. Accepted papers will be presented at Eurographics 2015 and published in a special issue of the Eurographics journal Computer Graphics Forum. Therefore, submissions will undergo a two-step review process. We encourage submissions from all areas related to computer graphics such as rendering, modeling, animation, visualization, virtual reality, computer vision, imaging, computer-aided fabrication, human-computer interaction, and related disciplines. Submission Dates A preliminary abstract is due by 23:59 GMT, Friday, September 19, 2014, and the full paper deadline is 23:59 GMT, Friday, September 26, 2014. Note that a full paper can only be submitted if an abstract has been submitted by the abstract deadline. Submission Electronic submission of all papers is mandatory and will be conducted using the <https://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference%2fEG_2014> Submission and Review Management (SRMv2) system. Papers must be written in English, they must be anonymized, and must be formatted according to the Eurographics Computer Graphics Forum publication guidelines. <https://srmv2.eg.org/COMFy/Conference/EG_2015/Instruction> The publication guidelines and LaTeX templates are available on SRMv2. Accepted papers must be presented in English at Eurographics 2015. This event uses a double-blind reviewing approach, so please remove all personal data (such as authors, affiliations, etc.) from your submission. Reviewers are asked to keep confidential all materials sent to them for evaluation. Note that this year, there is no arbitrary maximum length imposed on papers. Papers should be as long as they need to be, but not longer. If a submission is perceived as repetitive or unnecessarily long, it might be ranked lower by reviewers than a concisely written submission. Double Submission Policy Authors are required to include a declaration that they have not previously published the scientific contribution claimed in their paper, nor has it been submitted to or is currently under review in any other conference or journal before or during the Eurographics 2015 Technical Papers review period. Any paper that does not adhere to these requirements will be rejected without review. Re-Submitted Material For papers that have previously been reviewed for other venues and have been rejected or withdrawn, the authors are encouraged to provide a cover letter to describe the history of the paper (however, this does not imply reviewer continuity). This cover letter can also answer the comments made in the previous reviews, by either listing the changes that were made to comply with them, or discussing/rebutting/clarifying some elements if need be. Though not mandatory, this procedure is strongly recommended. The cover letter has to be submitted through the SRM as an Additional Attachment (last section of the SRM upload form). Rebuttal, Notification, Publication & Prizes · The reviews will be made available to the authors on November 13, 2014. A rebuttal period from November 13 to November 18, 2014 will allow authors to submit a brief document to address any factual errors or clarify other issues raised in the reviews. · The date for notification of the results of the first round of the review process is December 5, 2014. · Revised versions of the papers conditionally accepted in the first round must be submitted by December 31, 2014. The final notification of the outcome of the second reviewing round will be made on January 14, 2015. The camera-ready version of accepted papers will be due on January 28, 2015. · From all accepted and presented papers, an international jury will select the best papers. The best paper will receive the Günter Enderle Award, including a cash prize of 1000 Euros, presented at Eurographics 2015.
