Dear colleagues, The State-of-the-Art Reports (STARs) track at the Eurographics conference is a prestigious and integral component of the event, dedicated to providing comprehensive surveys on current and emerging topics in computer graphics. These reports synthesize recent advancements, significant research findings, and future directions in various subfields. STARs reports have a significant impact on the community, as evidenced by their high number of citations. Timeline All following deadlines are at 23:59 UTC. [Fri] Oct. 4, 2024: STAR abstract submission deadline [Fri] Oct. 18, 2024: Full STAR submission deadline [Fri] Dec. 20, 2024: First review notification [Fri] Feb. 07, 2025: Revised STAR submission [Fri] Feb. 28, 2025: Second review notification [Fri] Mar. 21, 2025: Camera-ready version due Topics We welcome submissions on all topics relevant to EUROGRAPHICS and particularly encourage STARs on subjects not covered in recent editions. STAR reports on cross-sectional, multidisciplinary areas are also highly encouraged. Additionally, a STAR can address the use of Computer Graphics techniques in different scientific disciplines or industrial practices. Reviewing Process Accepted STARs are published in a special issue of the Computer Graphics Forum, which appears right before the EUROGRAPHICS conference. The journal status of the proceedings requires a two-stage review process with conditional acceptance after the first round and final acceptance based on the revised submissions. Submissions needing a major revision will be transferred to the standard submission track of the Computer Graphics Forum. Submission Format We do not impose strict maximum lengths for these submissions. However, it is recommended that papers be up to 20 pages excluding references and the authors’ short bios, to conform to the general recommendation for CGF survey papers. STARs must be formatted according to the Eurographics Computer Graphics Forum guidelines <https://www.eg.org/wp/eurographics-publications/guidelines/> and submitted as anonymous papers. How to Submit Electronic submissions of STARs are mandatory and will be conducted using the Submission and Review Management System. If Accepted At EUROGRAPHICS 2025, the authors of a STAR will be given 90 minutes to present the report at a level that allows non-experts in the particular domain to follow the presentation. (Conference website: https://sap.acm.org/2024/) About the conference: The ACM Symposium on Applied Perception (SAP) provides an intimate forum for researchers who combine knowledge, methods, and insights from perception research and computer science disciplines. This includes cognitive psychology, perceptual psychology, psychophysics, behavior analysis, and neuroscience on the perceptual side and computer graphics, computer vision, visualization, virtual reality, and human-computer interfaces on the visual computing side. The interdisciplinary focus of this conference acknowledges that the various scientific disciplines in perception research and computer science research use different but complementary methods to address fundamentally similar questions. As such, combinations of knowledge, methods, and/or insights from the different fields can help to advance all of the applied perception fields. ACM SAP 2024 will be held in Dublin, Ireland on August 30th and 31st at the Trinity Long Room Hub in Trinity College Dublin. About the posters: The posters program provides an informal venue for scholarly submissions within the scope of ACM SAP: whether it be completed work, work in progress, or a successful system or application. Call for Full Papers For its 45th edition, the EUROGRAPHICS 2025 Full Papers Program will showcase innovative research in Computer Graphics and related areas. Specific sessions will be organised to seek new challenges and projects involving different stakeholders of the Heritage ecosystem. Hence, interdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary approaches are particularly welcome to the event. Location The event aims to engage with practitioners and researchers across the world working at novel digital technologies and approaches to CH. The journey started on the Mathildenhöhe with the forming of the Artists' Colony, a group of artists whose exhibitions enjoyed worldwide recognition and who created a document of modern forms of construction and housing - starting point for modern industrial design. UNESCO honored Darmstadt’s Mathildenhöhe as world heritage site in July 2021 as an outstanding example of experimental architecture of the early 20th century consisting of the Wedding Tower, Exhibition Hall, Artists' Colony Museum, plane tree grove and artists' houses. The second UNESCO award back in 1995 was the honoration of the Messel Pit as UNESCO Natural Heritage Site. Messel Pit is the richest site in the world for understanding the living environment of the Eocene, between 57 million and 36 million years ago. In particular, it provides unique information about the early stages of the evolution of mammals and includes exceptionally well-preserved mammal fossils, ranging from fully articulated skeletons to the contents of stomachs of animals of this period. GCH2024 invites you to join into dedicated trips to both sites, offering you a unique opportunity to visit the two world heritage sites. Objectives The objective of this year’s EG GCH is to foster discussion between research scientists at the crossroads of AI, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, HCI design, and Digital Heritage researchers, in a collaborative environment with cultural institutions, scholars in the Cultural Heritage domain and Creative Industries. GCH 2024 welcomes presentations of new research, projects, applications and best practices that show innovative ideas or other advanced digital technologies involved in CH research, analysis, preservation, simulation, documentation, dissemination, and promotion. Inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary approaches are particularly welcome to the event. We encourage the community to participate in the discussions on promises and concerns about the adoption of AI and reconstruction technologies by scientists and practitioners in the field of Creative Industries and CH. This year's Bio+MedVis challenges are up! Check the webpage http://biovis.net/2024/biovisChallenges_vis/, where you find all the information about the topic of the main challenge, as well as the redesign challenge. We hope that you will appreciate that this year, we paid special attention, and the challenges are thoroughly prepared to ease the initial barrier to getting into the topic. Submissions Submissions will be considered for talk or poster presentations. Please send a two-page PDF abstract with up to 5 additional figures and a draft of your proposed poster. Selected submissions will be invited for talk presentations during the Bio+MedVis session at the IEEE VIS 2024 conference.
